I work at a call center and I wear a mask when I’m in office and haven’t missed a flu or COVID shot yet. I’ve never had COVID and haven’t been sick since at least 2019.

I write well enough for the e-mails I’m required to send, I don’t code, I have no use/desire to generate “art,” and I don’t like search results I have to double check so I’ve been blessed (cursed?) to not have to use “AI” in my daily life.

I paid $845 after tax for a used 7900XTX back in June 2023 to max out my 5800X3D system. I figured by the time I could afford a 5090-class GPU that would make a bottleneck out of my 5800X3D I might be able to skip DDR5 completely. Now I’m unsure if 5090-class performance will ever be available for less than $1k.
