I’ve always lived in Oregon. You would be surprised how many people think it’s only California and Washington on the west coast. About a dozen different people in various MMOs have had the same confusion.

Having just pulled repaired and put an engine back in one of my cars. No ICE cars are much harder to repair. Range will probably be an issue for a while. What I’m really excited for is hybrid light duty vehicles like a 1 ton hybrid would be great.
I generalize millennials as too young to legally drink in the US (21) but old enough to remember the millennium. It’s not completely accurate though.
Power tools are sometimes the exception to the rule of buying cheap tools. Saws are probably the biggest exception. My cheap corded ryobi saw is awful because it’s so flimsy, and the deck bends. The makita saw I replaced it with is 100x easier to use, more accurate, and safer.
Buying cheap tools applies to hand tools, air tools, hydraulic stuff, etc.
Firm disagree. Social media, or more specifically algorithmic short form content these days, is extremely damaging. It’s different from anything that’s come before and has nothing to do with connecting with your peers.
I graduated high-school in 2009 so I saw the beginning of popularized social media. Very few gained anything from participating in it. Mostly people who were good at marketing and building a following benefited.
Meh. Big screens don’t make cars better. It’s still a car, and basic functionality is more important than a big screen that lags or hides functions.
A mom broke up with her boyfriend. He returned later and killed her 3 kids, then her, then himself. The oldest son was in my class.
I wasn’t great friends with him, but I knew him well enough to feel bad about it. So many people who hated him pretended to be sad for attention.
I only lurk on Reddit these days, but if old reddit goes away I’ll be completely done with it.
My kids are similar ages and I think non-parents assume we are insulting them we we state how difficult parenting is. It’s an objective fact that having kids is hard, they make every activity at least twice as difficult.
For example. I had to travel for work recently. 12 hours of travelling total, including 4 hours in traffic. Because the kids weren’t there, it was really easy.
Another example. My MS in engineering feels like it was nothing compared to the work I’ve put in for the almost 8 years our first has been alive.
Which seems like I’m making fun of people without kids for thinking normal life is easy. Nope, my perception is warped and everyone has their own perception of life’s difficulties.
The police have no duty to protect the public has only been tested under orders to protect from what I understand. Being charged with murder for not enforcing a restraining or protective order that led to a murder is sort of ridiculous, so I understand not forcing the police to act on every protective order.
Being part of an active shooting where it was obvious children were dying hasn’t been ruled as not part of a police officers duty to protect. I hope this doesnt set new precedent because that would be insane.
My oldest daughter is a bit over 6 years older than our baby. I might ask her to do something similar to what you are describing. Most people on here seem to think helping the family out equals trauma because birthing someone automatically means you retain full responsibility for them existing. It’s more complicated than that and I think the thing people are mad about is choosing to have kids in a way that you expect them to take care of each other.
I am you. I have two kids and fucking hell our expenses are getting out of control. Fortunately we spaced them out enough that only one is in day/preschool. But it’s still basically impossible to justify my wife being employed with only our youngest kid’s expenses. Looking at $2.5k per month of childcare expenses for one kid makes me want to give up.
My state, Oregon, passed a leave law that is currently saving our lives. Extra 4 weeks of leave that can be taken intermittently. We are financially fucked the moment we are out of our state leave. For reference I have an MS in ME and work in manufacturing. And my wife is one of the highest paid dental assistants I’m aware of.
No. Just stop with the disinformation.
I can’t reproduce it either. Android Phone, win10 PC, and private browser. All Firefox and uBlock Origin.
I did previously get that “disable it or else” message twice. I just submit feedback that I’d like the link to cancelling my Google services and it goes away for a while. I wonder if just submitting feedback disables the popup because it’s instantaneously fixed.
If your in the US you should have refinanced in 2021 if it was an option. It’s cheaper for me to pay the minimum on my home loan than it is to pay it off. Inflation is significantly more than my mortgage interest rate.
Hopefully it works out for you, but I’d be legit terrified of the moment that loan becomes adjustable rate.
System integrator or automation integration. It has a few names. My title is currently controls specialist but that also changes constantly. I install, setup, and program PLCs to run any type of plant automation. I also set up HMIs and stock tracking systems. I haven’t done it in a while but interfacing with SAP used to be a big part my job. Now I mostly just program conveyors and configure HMIs so people can see status without being on the floor.
I started this job by having an MS in ME and taking the first job I could get out of college. It was never my intent to have this career path, but now I kind of like it. It’s crazy stressful at times though. Whole production facility can go down for hours if I make mistakes.
It’s getting less common because it looks cleaner and functions better to have the divider flush with the sides. My sink is flat on top and it’s better because I can set what I’m washing out of the sink. It does get scratched up over time though.
Cheap sinks have the rim they are describing. Expensive sinks usually have a low or no divider. It’s the mid teir that is going flush on top for some reason. It’s a completely useless feature IMO that makes the sink less useful.
Yeah I’m old enough to have started with candy bar phones. Battery life has been creeping back below 1 day for a while. That motoG power would play music on Bluetooth all day if I started at 10% battery. It could also sit at 1% battery for hours if I didn’t touch it. Getting this new flagship phone is making me realize I value battery life way more than I realized.
Biggest issue with the older motoG was the camera sucked. I think the new version fixed that so I’ll probably go back to it.
Thought my work was bad. We at least can use VMs. I literally can’t do my job without one, Rockwell being what it is. Companies don’t like upgrading PLC software so I need to use old versions of windows occasionally to run old Rockwell stuff.
There was also a bug for a bit that would brick win11 PCs when trying to update PLC firmware, fun stuff.
Dumb question, he’s not president yet.
