I worked at Fort Lewis in the RCF (Regional Correctional Facility, aka prison) and we had an Army soldier who got 3 years for 1st degree murder because he mercy killed a combatant after they got covered in white phosphorous. Literally everyone was like “how the fuck do you only get 3 years for first degree murder?” and then when they read his court documents were like “what the fuck, you got screwed and obviously everyone knew it…” They legally determined that at the moment they were no longer fighting back they became non-combatants and to kill a non-combatant instead of rendering aid is murder. Since the judge and jury agreed that it did violate the law, but hoped that if they were ever in that combatant’s shoes, they would want someone to do to them what this soldier did, so yeah, guilty, but sentenced to the bare minimum allowed.

I know for 100% fact there is precedent already. But that is rules for thee, not for them, so I highly doubt we’ll see anything happen. I’m sure they’ll claim they need immunity because they were operating under special rules of engagement or some bullshit, and it will take years and lots of lawyers and in the end it’ll drag on until its forgotten about and gets quietly dismissed somewhere.

Which had already gone over budget due to feature creep, so Nedry was doing it himself because he didn’t have money to pay his people because Hammond wouldn’t give him the money they agreed on. I have been in his position, and while I didn’t betray the client and get killed, I really understand his mindset and “Fuck-it” attitude. Hammond is wealthy and using his position and power to spare as much expense as possible and step on as many contractors as possible. Kind of like an Orange Cheeto I know of. They will be laying off more workers, automating more positions, and raising prices. They didn’t make the system, but they definitely positioned themselves to take advantage of it.

Considering that the states that Trump won in 2024 cover a majority of the SNAP participants, its quite likely that quite a few people on SNAP literally voted for this. And next month there won’t be any backup funds for SNAP. Yeah, no doubt different facilities run things differently. Depends on where you are, who governs it and it’s security level. Low security gets more privileges than medium, high, or maximum security. Though for us medium security and lower could have small games, dice, dominoes, etc during rec hours.

If you’re rolling D20s, but there are also D4s, D6s, D8s, D10s, D12s, and a D10 Percentage die for 5e, and some spells require multiple of the same dice, so rolling 6d6 is a very real scenario, so you can have plenty of dice to use to find variations to get to 7 with different sided dice.

Don’t worry, there are dice in (at least some) prisons, every cell block had at least one D&D group going with 4-6 people, and they used dice.

Make enough C macro definitions and you can certainly do that, I did my final project in my high school programming class in the 90’s like that, made macros to simulate QBasic syntax and then just wrote it in basic, the end result is the macros converted everything into valid C++ and it compiled fine. Fortunately my teacher for that class was cool, and he was amused by it and since it compiled with no warnings and did what it was supposed to do, I got full marks for it.

Unfortunately its the down side of trying to upscale a PS1 or PS2, its fine with a cheaper one, for example you could get a retrotink 2x or something else and use that to convert to HDMI, it won’t be as clean as the 5x and you would still have the issues with games that switch resolutions causing the HDMI signal to drop for 3-4 seconds, but it would work. I just know from experience how annoying it is when I want to play one of those games, so for me it was worth it, and it was a lot cheaper when I bought mine…

For ps2, you want a retrotink, ps2 and ps1 have resolution switching mid game which is fine for crt tvs, it doesn’t work well with hdmi causing a drop out on resolution change, for 3-4 seconds each time. The retrotink is one of the few that can buffer the video so it keeps a steady 1080p signal through hdmi.

I have a 5x pro and it’s an amazing device. Upgraded from an ossc because of the above issues on my ps1 and ps2 games.
