John Oldman?
“Just gotta enable the OEIS menu in the .sysbin folder and it’ll make that program CHIM, that should solve your problem”
What it looks like when I ask “how do I put Cura on the taskbar”
That’s the thing, I don’t know enough to know what to even ask. So far I’ve been able to follow step-by-step instructions for installing Mint and downloading software, but I don’t know what I’m doing at all.
One example of something I spent hours on is adding Cura to the panel. I finally got that done while I was writing this comment by following AndyMH’s answer here.
Now, I can read
I would move the appimage into a folder in PATH. If you create a folder /home/you/bin it is automatically added to PATH next time you boot.
And I can do that. I have no idea what PATH is or why I want to do that, but I can do it. And I can look it up, and I’m sure I’ll eventually get to a point where all of this makes sense to me, but I feel kind of helpless when I have to look up multiple terms every time I want to do something as simple as adding an application to the panel
Mint, judge me
PS anyone have any favorite resources for absolute tech illiterate noobs? I’m trying, but without a baseline understanding of the subject, it’s hard to find the right guides
Yeah because you should refrigerate bread
Your children can inherit your GOG library. Buy DRM free!
Or just pirate lmao
Any protest that doesn’t physically damage buildings owned by the fossil fuel industry aren’t going far enough
This comment is advocating for property damage
If it’s as non-destructive as the rest of their protests, then I’d have nothing against it
Do you really not get the difference between “the chemicals are the same chemicals” and “nuh uh?”
I’m ignoring it because you don’t really have anything to say besides “we don’t know what the health effects of lab grown meat will be” when it’s quite literally exactly the same as normal meat. It’s like complaints about GMOs. The process of producing it may be different, but the physical material that you consume is literally identical on a chemical level. It’s nothing like cigarettes.
Wrong. Doctors lied about it for years when it first came out and long after

Some doctors may have been wrong, but that doesn’t mean nobody knew cigarettes were dangerous. I’ll save my time and assume that if you’re this unabashedly wrong about this, you’re probably as unabashedly wrong about everything else too
What’s the actual difference between a cancer cell and a normal cell, aside from the fact that cancer cells don’t kill themselves? Is cancer from a cow transmissible to humans?
People knew the effects of tobacco for centuries, actually. But also, it became widely known as soon as it started being widely investigated. I have the same argument about vapes all the time. Within like 2 years cigarettes went from being something prescribed by doctors to something that everyone knows gives you cancer. When something is as heavily scrutinized as vapes or lab-grown meat, you can be damned sure the effects will be widely understood within a couple of decades
Lmao like we’re selling snake oil
What is in lab grown meat that you reckon is harmful?
Is the leaves thing common for people who get glasses for the first time? That was the most intense sight for me at 25 years old, was seeing the individual leaves on a tree like 50 feet away
It’s simple: return the item
You basically need to buy a commercial model to get one that doesn’t have or need an internet connection to do what you need it to.
You can just not hook your TV up to the internet
How many times do I have to leave this comment
No, it’s pretty distinct from communism, which is why it’s not called that
I wasn’t kidding about the one year thing, I’m back! All of these shows were great. You weren’t kidding about Bubblegum Crisis, I can’t believe I put off watching it for so long, it was rad as hell. Noir was my favorite of these suggestions, literally the only thing that keeps it from being a 10/10 is the distracting lack of any blood. Bakumatsu was super interesting—it’s cool seeing a show where half of the characters have Wikipedia pages. There’s a certain kind of person who both has a deep interest in the Boshin War and likes historical fantasy, for whom Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto is the best show ever made. I can’t bring myself to say that Eat-Man was good, but the concept is interesting, and I absolutely adore Bolt Crank as a character. '98 definitely improved on '97, but I’m fond of both series
I haven’t watched everything in your other comment yet, but I did watch Megalo Box, and it’s one of my favorite shows now—makes it to almost every list of recommendations because of the differences between the first and second seasons. It’s crazy how quickly it goes from shounen to seinen.
