Can be a symptom but not always. For example my fiance has this all the time but not sleep apnea

I used to get this all the time when I was really young, like less than 8, but I’m an adult now and haven’t had it happen since then at all. I wonder why?

Perhaps less or different activity in the day? My husband gets this a lot as he does downhill biking and his brain is replaying the day, while I only get it occasionally and it’s usually something lame, like stepping off a curb.

It feels like it happens more often the more active I was during the day, and as a kid hooo man very physically active.
