TL;DW: Switch 1 games that struggled with framerate now run much better on Switch 2 via backwards compatibility. Batman Arkham Knight ran at an abysmal ~20FPS on the original Switch, but now runs at a stable 30.
I bet it’s probably still slower than running Switch games on an emulator.
A console in 2025 “runs at a stable 30” fps and that’s good news? Of course this is slightly faster than a mobile chip from 10 years ago, but that’s an incredibly low bar to set.
We know it’s faster, but allegedly Switch 1 games run through a compatibility layer so there was some worry it wouldn’t boost performance on old titles. The video confirms it does.
That’s interesting I’d wonder if totk or botw would run better without the paid switch 2 update then.
I bet they wont even let you play it without “upgrading” it first.
