President Trump signed an executive order renaming the Department of Defense the Department of War, though a formal name change would require Congress to act.
Calling it the department of defense, it’s easier for us to justify the “conflicts” we “end up in”. By removing the new-speak and calling it the Department of War, it’ll be easier to see our actions for what they are: waging war. Since that’s less palatable, it’ll erode public support for war. Nobel Peace Prize, please!
