This is too violent, too awful for the country I grew up in. I am sad not because I give a shit about a dirtbag like Kirk, but that we are now losing Rule of Law and the social contract. We are falling as a nation, and this is just one more domino in that process. They made this world for us but they’re not the only ones who are going to suffer from it.
This is what happens when violent and hateful rhetoric is allowed to be aired freely under the guise of “good Christian values”, while voices calling for checks notes being nice to other people are silenced. We all know that sowing division absolutely rakes in the profits, so do the math on who benefits from that.
This is not a right or left issue. This is the tolerant refusing to tolerate the intolerant after nothing else has worked.
but that we are now losing Rule of Law and the social contract.
The last chance to recover this was gone when Biden failed to uphold it against Trump and his followers after Jan. 6. Now Trump is back and throwing the last vestiges of law and order away. You need to accept that we’re not going to vote our way back to normalcy.
Absolutely agree, every single person involved in that coup attempt should have been paraded around in orange jumpsuits and shackles and publicly shamed before being locked away for however many years traitors get in prison.
The next slap in America’s dying face was the Supreme Court granting our king, I mean president, full immunity for whatever the fuck he wants to do.
Now that people are starting to realize we don’t have a system anymore, we’re going to see more and more violence as the country continues to decay.
but that we are now losing Rule of Law and the social contrac
We lost that when we failed to jail Trump after his felony convictions, which came after the failure to convict him in the senate of supporting an insurrection.
I know Hitler comparisons are kinda stale, but Hitler never actually killed anyone (even during his WW1 military service apparently). He just said words and then other people killed for him. The same is true for plenty of dictators and politicians that indirectly caused the deaths of thousands or millions. Words have power.
As he was shot, he was suggesting that transgender people are more likely to become mass shooters, which is a dangerous lie that the current administration is itching to use to remove 2A rights and potentially institutionalize/forcibly detransition transgender people. There are also likely transgender people to be murdered themselves as part of the hatred that he is participating in whipping up.
I do hope that it wasn’t a trans person. But yes, I am happy that he is dead. When Donald Trump dies, I will be happy. If Alex Jones dies I will be happy. These people are actively destructive to society. They chose to dedicate their lives to harming others. People who harm others should not be surprised when that is turned the other way.
I mean, devil’s advocate here but that wording yes it does. I imagine if it was worded more as “I’m happy it happened” than “this should happen to anyone who does this” it wouldn’t count as inciting. Though that being said I have no clue, just using my powers of empathy to see if I can understand the thing. Something that a certain someone didn’t use.
Yes, he was a human being. With all of the associated rights, responsibilities, and various other baggage that comes attached to that. Dehumanization of the other is exactly what leftists are upset at conservatives over, and is what leads to situations like present day Palestine and Israel, where people are killed en masse with no remorse. The IDF is reportedly having fun murdering civilians. The only way that happens is that they are taught these Palestinians are not people, they are animals. This is what it leads to.
Was Charlie Kirk a piece of shit scum fucking loser who deserved exactly what he got? Yeah, absolutely. I will not shed a single tear over this man’s passing and I wish they shot him an additional time in the knees first.
But he was also a human being. No matter how disgusting our opponent we should not stoop to dehumanization. If we must kill them we must kill with a heavy heart. To do otherwise is to dehumanize yourself.
There is no need for heavy heart on justified killing, he was actively speaking in favor of limiting other peoples freedom and spreading hate all around him where ever he went. Only thing he was good at was deflecting questions and points that went against he’s believes. Hell, he’s legacy will most likely be used to fuel the hate even more.
We should not feel bad about the death of some purely evil people. The world will be a lot better place without him. Sure dehumanization should not be extended to civilians or masses of people but rather on some individual people who are full of hate and evil to the core.
I don’t understand why they are so careful, no ones taking any of the social media sites with nonstep threats of violence against liberals all day, leftists always cater to the right to be nice while the right steps on them
Nice people still believe that tolerating the intolerance works.
It fucking doesn’t.
My only regret is that it took me decades to actually understand that. I always believed that being nice and compassionate to others, no matter how much they hate would eventually woke out. It doesn’t.
Now I tell cunts to eat a dick immediately, no more wasting time being nice.
Is the censorship that bad here? I switched to this platform because reddit is handing out bans for everything these days and tought this place is more free.
You have to be massively desensitized and emotionally fucked to see a human being get shot in the throat in front of dozens of deeply traumatized people and want to gloat. Good on the mods, I don’t want people wallowing in violent fascist (ohhh is assassinating people and political violence left now??) self-radicalization in my communities, either.

Be careful, celebrating too much will get your comment taken down by mods.
Can’t be happy about dead Nazis.
If he dies, I will legitimately cheer.
He died. Cheer away!
Good riddance!
I’m getting dressed so I can buy a bottle of wine as we speak. The only good Nazi…
He’s dead. I hated him but I can’t cheer.

The heritage foundation skull fucked the corpse of the social contract unfortunately.

Exactly.
As well as not putting every Jan 6th insurrectionist in prison.
This is where I am at exactly
None of us are openly spewing hate upon other people because we have empathy. Something the right doesnt believe in.
Good news!
Nah. We’re focusing on removing things that are in direct contrast to instance-wide rules (directly advocating violence).
How did my removed comment directly incite violence?
checking. Wasn’t me.
You literally said a human being deserved to be shot in the throat in front of everyone for saying words. How far is your head up your own ass.
I know Hitler comparisons are kinda stale, but Hitler never actually killed anyone (even during his WW1 military service apparently). He just said words and then other people killed for him. The same is true for plenty of dictators and politicians that indirectly caused the deaths of thousands or millions. Words have power.
It was true then, and it’s still true now.
Inciting violence is OK if you’re a conservative.

Does that incite violence dumb dumb?

It’s too bad Charlie Kirk will never be able to attempt to feel empathy, not that he ever would have.
Can u even call him a human? He was a piece of shit who got what he deserved.
Monsters like him can only be human, the violence of animals is far more individual and primitive.
This way lies madness.

We can be happy when others die. That is not the same as calling FOR them to die.
Kirk literally said kids should watch public executions, so arguably, he was just providing an example.
I don’t remember comments getting removed when Brian Thompson was killed

The man was a Nazi who said this after three children died.

I’ve never wished for a man’s death, but I’ve read some obituaries with great pleasure… Or something like that.
Nah, you just have to have been a target of his invitations to others to commit violence against you.
Is it winter already?
I’m with Jerkface.
“and all the bigots go get fucked”
