      I think people have a pretty distorted view of the cultural background of ww2: Folks were anti-Nazis because they were “the bad guys”, not because of their ideology. I mean, sure , a fair few people probably thought fascism was shit but the popular acrimony against Germany et al was not anti-fascist in essence. it was simply old-fashioned war and they were the enemy.

      Just like all the racist jokes your shitty uncle made about Saddam in the 90s and/or 2000s
