There’s no such thing as a junior dev. I remember looking at the job listings at some huge company. Like 5-7 years ago. They had dozens and dozens of senior dev positions and that was it.
There is, but once in a while you need some person that knows what they’re doing. Those positions tend to stay open longer because they can’t find the guy they’re looking for. Junior Dev position gets bombarded with applications in any second of the day.
That’s the joke, yes. Thank you for explaining it. One problem is that software development is not a real profession, so it’s a free for all nightmare.
Also, it’s not once in a while; I’m telling you that I’ve seen trillions of senior positions and a handful of junior or trainee positions.
