Agents tried to detain Castro Rivera and the three other passengers, and he fled on foot, tried to cross Interstate 264 in Norfolk and was fatally struck, according to state and federal authorities.

DHS blamed Castro Rivera’s death on “a direct result of every politician, activist and reporter who continue to spread propaganda and misinformation about ICE’s mission and ways to avoid detention.”

Federal authorities and state police gave his first name as Jose, but family members said it was Josué. DHS and state police did not explain the discrepancy.

Who care, close enough, right Mrs. Noem?

Not necessarily, ICE is now monitoring social media to identify and target illegal immigrants. If your account is already flagged as one, a simple public post with tagged location can be enough for an “intelligence based operation”.

Be safe out there, try to not leave any public trace.

I’m not disagreeing with you, but if they were targeting him specifically it’s probably likely that another employee turned to him in. It happens all the time.

The problem with making that assumption is that it downplays the very scary degree of spying technology (evidenced by contracts with firms that supply such) they are using.

It’s a new degree of surveillance escalation to this fascist organization, and it’s bad news for everyone.

Everyone in the US should be dumping their social media, and if they must, creating burner accounts. I gave up on social media long ago, and burn everything every few weeks.

I wonder do they still get their bonus? Probably get some extra knowing how corrupt they are.

I’m always amazed how bodies can keep piling up and nobody really cares in the US. What does it take before society as a whole says “enough!”? A lot, apparently.

nobody really cares in the US

We just had the largest protest in our country’s history, are you confused?

Remember, the US, while likes to sell itself as the “sole winner of WW2”, the “main force that beat the Nazis”, actually profited off the war by selling equipment to both the Allies and Axis powers, and had regular Nazi marches that largely went by unprotested, up until Pearl Harbor.

So, what does it take for the US to stand up in unity?

A clear-cut attack against the US as a whole.

As an outside it’s is bizarre to see, esp against the rhetorical image of the American we have seen in the last 50 years.

I understand that any violence will be used against protestors and I feel that unfortunately as any peaceful protest is blatantly ignored (at this points it’s almost being mocked), violence is likely to occur.

Question is what is the line? It’s not abuse of minorities, it’s not protection of the greedy, it’s not personal privacy.

As an insider it’s bizarre. There’s a lot of fear here, and it’s exacerbated by the fact that there’s a large and very vocal, and very violent minority who is intermixed throughout the populace. That minority is being coaxed on to violence by the oligarchy, actively.

Then we have the “prodding outsiders” who believed the American exceptionalism propaganda exports, and are now shoving that in our faces goading us on “why won’t you be the first to stand up and get shot in the face? Why won’t your heroes DO anything?!”

Because most of us are kind, gentle, very tired people who are probably waiting for this to all “blow over” which likely won’t happen by itself.

Thanks for your concern I guess.

I think it’s just so unreal for many. I understand that most people are scared and tired too. I am Apprehensive of what is coming because it’s the innocent who get the brunt. I wish Peace and love could win through.
