It’s in response to the decision last week to let Israel keep participating, which was followed by the boycott of the competition by Spain, Iceland, Denmark and this decision by Nemo. Others countries have since decide to boycott it as well (not Switzerland).
This is why the left is doomed at the moment.
Someone stands up for the left side, they receive: “fuck off you’re not perfect enough”
Whereas any branch of the right will get behind another if they’re even slightly nudging the way they want.
Refusing to participate is a less powerful message with a smaller audience
Winning and refusing to accept the prize would be a much more powerful message with the biggest audience.

It all lip-service actually. These countries (EU and US) have all the political, economic, legal and military power to actually punish Israel but instead they choose to do these meaningless acts. In fact they benefits from this genocide/colonization.
When someone is at the (benefit) receiving side of colonization process, of course, they would not want to be punished for sins of their father, but they will also not give up on the jewels looted by their father too.
