A herd of about 100 wild elephants were trying to cross a railway line when the train driver spotted them. He deployed the emergency brakes but it was too late.
While I myself believe that human life is more important than any other life, I understand the opinion that all life is equally important and I respect it.
That being said, whichever our opinion on the importance of life may be, that could have been much worse.

Elephants are people. They just aren’t humans.
Given the average intelligence of most humans, I’d be willing to wager that most elephants are smarter than that.
Respect all life. Humans are not entitled to it more than anything else.
