Everything mentioned in this I’ve already seen covered elsewhere, for the most part by John Oliver. Don’t see why it’s being spammed all over Lemmy. Just because this particular piece was being supposed we gotta “stick it to the man” and share it among the dozens of lemmings?
…my parents, whose television does all their thinking for them, used to consider 60 minutes a reputable source of information: i’m not sure whether they still do since going balls-out cartoon-fascist, but this is the closest i’ve seen truthful reporting come to presumed reputability within their disinformation sphere…
Because censorship sucks
Some of us aren’t terminally online and a lot of us are from outside the US.
It’s good to see the situation summed up, and presented by an apparently credible broadcaster.
Makes me sick to my stomach, I hope everyone is accounted for.
This probably doesn’t matter, but I’m neither terminally online nor am I from US. And I do recommend everybody to watch John Oliver, it’s usually relevant to everybody.
If you have a Lemmy account, you’re significantly more online than most people.
I didn’t say I’m not online, but I’m not “terminally online”. Also, IMO “most people” are more online than me, they just don’t read/watch informative stuff.
Its just because it was pulled, not because of what’s contained. With CBS having a Government Bias Monitor it’s pretty sus.
