I always call mine “bro” or “my son”. Rarely do I ever actually say his name lol.
My ex fiancee named my last cat Mittens, but I pretty much always just called her “Kitty”. She responded to it, but I always kinda got the impression she responded to me in particular over whatever I called her.
I mostly call mine by her name, but sometimes she’s Lil Stinky Butt, sometimes Miss Ma’am (especially when she’s in trouble), lately she’s been Freebird because she keeps trying to get out the doggy door with the puppies. Edit: In the time since I’ve posted this, she’s also gone by Honey Buns and Little Miss.

Ada was always Ada or little girl.
Manuel is more “Little man” or “manny boo” or “shutthefuckupIhavetoworksoyoucaneat”
I actually call the kitten kitten often. Or by your username, lol. Cats are dinguses! Sometimes I call her gremlin or Muppet (she’s so soft and fuzzy and huggable like I imagine a Muppet)
Her government name is for the vet!
We have two cat, both female, and neither goes by their registered name.
One was mine from before I moved in with my partner. Her actual name is masculine and uncapitalized. But we only use that name for vet visits, and to differentiate her from our other cat. Otherwise, she is just Kitty, or “Wow,” after the sound she typically makes.
The other cat we adopted together, and has a female name that is properly capitalized. We normally call her one of dozens of nicknames, though most of those are derived from her name and not just random terms of endearment.
Yes, and they both know their names and come when called. If they feel like it or are hungry.
Yep, they know their names but are typical cats in not consistently listening when I call them.
Nope. I rarely call Trouble by her full name but Princess Peanut Trouble Sparkle knows when she fucked up. Her sister has a name but shows up to “Honey”. Their older brother has only ever used “Dmitri” at the vet and is “hey old man” at home.
I almost exclusively use ridiculously cutesy nicknames for them because they are perfect.
Oh yes. I call them by their names and they know their names.
Yes shortened nicknames mostly
My cat only had a couple. My dogs, however, they have probably a dozen each.
My cat’s name is Spooky, but he gets called Spucky, Sporky, and Scoopy, all originally mispronunciations of his name that we found amusing. We also call him Cat, Mr. Cat, Kitty, Mr. Kitty, and occasionally Feline.
My cats name is Chanelle, but I rarely call her that. Her nickname is kitty cat ribs the 2nd, but I usually call her either kitty or ribs. Back story behind the nickname is my best friend had a cat when we were kids, and when he’d annoy him he’d threaten to cook him up like a rack of baby back ribs, so we started calling him kitty cat ribs.
