My ex has an uncle who imported a much younger wife. Yes he was always very conservative (and racist) and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a maga true believer. It always seemed questionable.

However she was always very independent, to the point of bringing over her medical licensing, and was well on her way toward building a successful independent life that she couldn’t have back home. Some of these may be working well for both parties

wonder if that woman is going to ditch him after she gets her MD license certified. which is can take a long time, because being an MD in the US if your in immigrant who went to med school elsewhere is pretty difficult.

I once got roped into a discussion by a far-right populist election stand. Me, clearly an immigrant. IDK why he didn’t just give up. Maybe because his far-Eastern wife was standing nearby, smiling, offering soft drinks to passersby, and probably listening. IDK. Anyhow, I asked him what his party can do for me specifically, an immigrant and non-citizen. It was a joy to listen to him stumble through that. Then I looked at his wife, who looked at me intently and had a big grin on her face. It was very clear that she had her own opinions on her man’s shenanigans.
