Brother, its not that easy. I live in Slovakia and have countless discussion with manu people about this. You have to understand that majority of this country population was born during comunnism and it really shows. Fico is for lot of them something they know, and they refusr to believe anything wrong about him. Fico plays the with the feat of ‘liberals’ and people belive that. It is not very bright in here know, but i belive ot will get better with younger generations :)

Well, times were different. People thougth that EU is gioing to magically everything perfect. And also, there were much less disinformation campaign (i would say almost none), as average people did not have internet.

If you do not live here you cant possibly understand how big disinformation wars are here. Slivakia is almost like a trainig field for every different type and approaches to this “tactic”, which are then used in other countries.

Its hard to see people you respect be completly brainwashed and blinded by something, they would think is normal 20 years ago. But it is what it is :(

      Will it?

I was hoping the new batch of politicians will show the world how it can be done.

Then I saw some memes with young Kalinak? He looks so young, but is on the same boat as Fico. There are many others, I have no doubt about that.

Even people who never saw the old regime can be vile and let’s be honest, fashy enough to pull the country further right.

Oh, i did not meant young politic figures. I though more so about young voters. I know a lot of different types of young people. I myself come from small village with typical village opinioms, but also spejt a significant time (5 years) in capiatal city Bratislava and know that it can (and i hope will :)) get better. Yes, there are some, lets say very stupid people among young too, but it want be so bad i hope :)

Also one think is critical thinking in time of internet. Like all of our parents have access to the internet, but very little of them know how to use it. Young people atleast understand that, not everything you see on the internet is true.

And also language barrier. A very small % of our parents understand english. So they are fully dependent on media and internet and friends who always have the best sources :). This creates so much fear of unknown. Imagine yourself in world where you would understand small size of people (cca 5 million), and from each direction you would be bombarded with so much information, wars, culture wars, etc. They were raised in isolation, country closed to open world, and know they have to handle this. Its though.

But young people overcome all of this. Lets say racism. For young people i met, black person is normal, something totally normal. No need to be racist, you see them everyday on the internet, you dont need to be afraid od them.

Etc. Etc. Etc. Young Kalinak is family of older Kalinak who is famous thief, like Fico, so yeah, he will be on his side. Ignore that dude, its not worth of your time :D

In year and a half we have election, and current polls and situation in sociaty gives me hope :). Sorry for big text, i am happy, that i can ventilate my thoughts on this, finally :D :)
