Mrs Alla, the last resident of Kryvorizhzhia in Donetsk region, sheltered many animals in her home as they hid from explosions. No streets or houses remain intact in the village - everything has been heavily shelled by Russians. Alla’s husband and sons died; one of them, Vitalii, a rescuer, was killed while saving civilians in Dobropillia.
Recently, Ukrainian volunteer Denys Khrystov, together with the Phoenix unit of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, evacuated Alla along with all her animals. She was taken to a safe house, where she can begin a new life.
