Do the Americans not realise that… like every single one of them going back 4-5 generations are immigrants? Very few native Americans are out there because of immigration.

Just as most Americans who have moved to other countries refuse to call themselves immigrants, and default to calling themselves “expats”, most don’t seem to get that, no.

It is less of a US thing, and more of a class thing. Expats are temporary work assignments overseas usually for high paying leadership positions.

An expat is anyone who lives outside of their native country while intending to return, while an immigrant is someone who moves to another country permanently.

One reason why you rarely hear about American “immigrants” to other countries is that it is absurdly hard to relinquish US citizenship. So even if an American were to gain citizenship elsewhere, they still owe US income tax, and are reminded of their status every April.

They still have to file income taxes. But, most places have higher taxes than the USA. Most places also have reciprocal tax agreements with the US. There’s also a deduction of something like $100k, so the first $100k (or local equivalent) you earn in another country isn’t taxed. As a result, unless you’re making high six figures, you don’t actually owe any American taxes.

OTOH, just filing US taxes is a real pain in the ass. In the US it’s made very slightly easier by your employer, bank, etc. all supplying you with the tax forms you need. If you’re overseas, you need to figure out the info you’d need to supply on that form yourself.

When those immigrants were coming to the US, they were not considered “white”. Sometimes the discrimination was because of skin colour, sometimes it was religion. But, they weren’t considered to have the morals and work ethic of the English-descended protestants that dominated the USA.

They’re arresting and detaining the actual native Americans too. Because they really want a Christo-fascist white state, not a native one.

That’s why they want to import the racists from South Africa.

Most Americans realize this, but our government doesn’t give a shit what we think right now. Trump and the GOP are not representing us.

Look at Greenland. 75% of Americans oppose what Trump is doing with that topic. That’s disgustingly low, too… But still, he does it anyway.

This isn’t new. Most Americans have no agency. We’re just a few notches above slave labor at this phase. All we can do is vote, but the wealthy are influencing those votes all over the country with money and propaganda.

For every sane person speaking out, there’s two to three others that have given up on everything. They’ll just watch the news and do what it says. Or, worse, a massive percentage of Americans don’t do anything. They don’t vote, they just take it because they’ve given up completely on everything outside the ongoing crisis that is their lives.

100%, my family only came to this god awful country to escape the Holocaust before it began. I find it absolutely absurd that now we have decided to shut our border. Even crazier is they keep saying they want legal immigration yet they make it impossible to do so.

Another U.S. citizen: 22-year-old Dulce Consuelo Diaz Morales was in custody for 25 days and transported to facilities in Louisiana, Texas, and New Jersey. In one detention center, she told WJZ Investigates she slept on the floor.

Her legal team provided documents, including her Maryland birth certificate and immunization records, along with other records they said they verified through an expert at Johns Hopkins University, but the Trump Administration is not backing down.

she now must wear an ankle monitor.

2 days detention for a Kavanaugh stop, huh? I think we should add up all the time citizens have spent detained because of blatant racism like this and then the man himself can sit in a shit hole jail for that length of time until he stops being too white to consider that other humans deserve better. I insist all his food contain spice levels not safe for white people to consume.

This military relies on its citizens. If it starts actively killing them in response for self defense, then not only the general strike but the problems in whole country will be guaranteed. And very quickly this military will officially turn into armed terroristic/criminal organization without proper support of the economy and many other aspects of society. So, it only takes a few sparks to start a huge fire. Yes, there will be innocent killed. But this will be justified if the crooked government will be destroyed.
