News of Tracee Mergen’s decision came before agents fatally shot Alex Pretti, another US citizen in Minneapolis

A supervisor in the FBI’s Minneapolis field office who unsuccessfully attempted to investigate the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good in the city on 7 January has resigned, according to multiple reports.

News of agent Tracee Mergen’s resignation surfaced shortly before federal agents fatally shot Alex Pretti in Minneapolis on Saturday. Pretti and Good were both 37-year-old US citizens.

Mergen resigned following pressure from the bureau in Washington DC to discontinue an inquiry into ICE officer Jonathan Ross, who shot Good to death as videos showed her trying to drive away from a confrontation, according to the New York Times and NBC News.

        I like that line. Sounds almost poetic, and it might make some folks stop and think. Not that there’s a lot of morality to be exodused, inside law enforcement.

      Probably because they were targeted for doing the right thing, and faced some kind of retaliatory “well now we’re investigating you, for investigating us!” Bullshit

      I honestly don’t know if the right answer is for people to stay or go in these kinds of situations, but this doesn’t seem any different than the prosecutors who left the DOJ because they were being told to investigate Good’s widow.

      I do know that when you look at people who rationalized continuing to work for Nazis vs those that refused, there are many who did it because they knew the consequences of refusing could mean their own execution, but there are very few who stuck around because they thought they legitimately could help people more from the inside. They just kind of became helpless cogs in the murder machine who rationalized the horrific shit they were ordered to do each day by telling themselves it was their only rational choice.

      The lack of morale among Nazis, dwindling public support, and few loyalists truly willing to die for Hitler weren’t the only reasons they lost the war, but they also weren’t insignificant factors related to their defeat.

      I don’t blame people for thinking it might be best to get out while you can before you become any more culpable for war crimes. Especially if it’s true some of the DOJ prosecutors really had been interviewing with “liberal law firms” like Bondi brown nose claimed. It is legit hard to know what’s kayfabe vs reality these days, but either she’s been working on delivering her lines or she was legit having a crazy spiral when she said they didn’t break up with the DOJ, the DOJ broke up with them.
