The mayor of Portland, Oregon, demanded U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement leave his city after federal agents launched tear gas at a crowd of demonstrators — including young children — outside an ICE facility during a weekend protest that he characterized as peaceful.

Witnesses said agents deployed tear gas, pepper balls and rubber bullets as thousands of marchers arrived at the South Waterfront facility on Saturday. Erin Hoover Barnett, a former OregonLive reporter who joined the protest, said she was about 100 yards (90 meters) from the building when “what looked like two guys with rocket launchers” started dousing the crowd with gas.

“To be among parents frantically trying to tend to little children in strollers, people using motorized carts trying to navigate as the rest of us staggered in retreat, unsure of how to get to safety, was terrifying,” Barnett wrote in an email to OregonLive.

    demand

It’s only a demand if you have a stick ready when the demand gets ignored.

Do you have a stick? If not, it’s nothing more but a frustrated plea

ICE is assaulting citizens. They shouldn’t even have tear gas and pepper spray. It’s not their job to do crowd control. That’s the job of the local pd or national guard.

Sad watching pouring water on crying kids’ eyes.

Also, the Eugene January 30 story is worth looking into. There’s a video that shows ICE breaking a window before the tear gas hits. I don’t know if there was already a window broken, but as far as I’ve seen: ICE smashed it’s own building window as an excuse to gas protestors

Do NOT put milk (or any other animal excretions) in your eyes. Milk contains bacteria which can infect your abraded corneas.

This reminds me of the medieval folk remedy of putting cow dung on open wounds.

Those roads are looking rough. I think they need to resurface the whole block. All 4 roads around the building look bad. Might take a while for construction to finish

These politicians need some creativity. Words mean nothing to these fascists. Laws mean nothing to them
