Billionaire philanthropist Melinda French Gates has said her ex-husband, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, being named in new files relating to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein dredged up “painful times in my marriage”.

She told an NPR podcast she feels “unbelievable sadness” about the Epstein allegations and that the people named in the records, including her former husband, need to answer to it.

“I am so happy to be away from all the muck,” she said. The couple divorced in 2021 after 27 years of marriage.

Records released by the US justice department include an allegation by Epstein that Bill Gates caught a sexually transmitted disease. He has called the claim “absolutely absurd”.

Yeah, I clocked that too. I think it’s deliberate, but more for legal reasons. She’s probably terrified Bill is going to get sued by some trafficking survivor, hence the emphasis on “ex-husband,” and “he needs to answer those questions,” etc.

I say that because she separated from him as soon as the Epstein thing really started to register publicly, and implicit accusations of adultery were already a thing with him. To her credit she’s never been credibly linked to Epstein, or to put it another way, her repulsion always read as real to me. But who knows. They’re all doing the darvo so it’s hard to tell.

I don’t think Bill has actually been accused of anything criminal, has he? Even if the stuff about getting STDs is true, there’s nothing to indicate the women involved weren’t adults.

“Oh you know. My husband fucked some very young girls and I even got STD from it. But this is still no reason to talk about it publicly”.

Yes Melinda. You are protecting a pedophile. You are part of the problem.

So sympathy here for that bitch.

As disgusting as this is, is it really surprising when most of media is referring to a child rapist and sex trafficker as ‘disgraced financier’.

No sympathy for her, because she pretended not to know anything until someone else told everyone.

If she had blew the whistle as soon as she found out it woupd be one thing.

But she covered for child rapists until everyone else found out, and now is legit trying to pass it off as “crazy, right?”

If she knew and kept her mouth shut for whatever reason, then she’s an accessory at least after the fact

Fuck all these billionaires who think the rules don’t apply to them and their friends.

She also had a big hand in fucking up the American school system for decades.

Stupid rich people used their wealth to purchase politicians and override the opinions of professional educators.

        You’ve never died either…

If you think that means you’re immortal, than you have consistent logic, but none of us should be listening to you…

The rules apply to them, it’s just no one is enforcing them. And since the oligarchs lost the DNC last year when the voting members finally picked a non-neoliberal chair, there’s not going to be anyone that can stop a progressive Dem from winning the primary, then the general, then actually enforcing the rules on the oligarchs

If you’ve never died, does that make you immortal…that’s the wrong thought exercise.

The rules apply to them, it’s just no one is enforcing them.

This is more like “a tree falls in the forest”.

If the rules aren’t enforced against them, then they absolutely do not apply to them.

This is a serious problem, when all three branches of government, are occupied by the trees. They need to be shown consequence, and it may have to be by hatchet, axe, and saw.

It’s cute that you think we will have elections in November, or that they will be free and fair.

It’s not really a pedantic thing, but it kind of is.

The rules apply, if they didn’t they wouldn’t still give a fuck. They’d be having Epstein parties on the South lawn for everyone to see. If for no other reason than doing it in the open is more extreme than doing it in secret.

Currently consequences do not apply, because they’re not being held accountable.

But the rules do, or else they wouldn’t be hiding it. You think it’s shame that’s keeping trump from admitting all this shit? He’s afraid because there’s still a chance that consequences could show up, because the rules do still apply. They’re just not being enforced at this moment in time that’s not as long and ending as you seem to believe

            It’s cute

            Sorry, not interested.

Billionaires become billionaires because they want all of the power and privileges that come along with it. If having the total freedom and liberty to do whatever you want is your goal, there doesn’t seem to be any better way to accomplish that than to become obscenely rich. And I think that’s why so many people tolerate this cultural, social arrangement: because their goals are aligned with the super wealthy. The difference between the rich and the poor isn’t their values, it’s their net worth. That’s why everyone is hustling so hard every day to try and get as rich as possible, so that one day, maybe, they might be the one laying out on the deck of a yacht, drinking expensive champagne, snorting coke and getting a hand job from a beautiful, young girl.
