Federal and state law enforcement in Arizona are still looking for Nancy Guthrie, the mother of NBC News anchor Savannah Guthrie. There’s hope that a found glove may contain DNA from a potential suspect.
The thing that is baffling to me about this is why the Guthries? If this is as sophisticated as it seems, then why a well known journalist? There are hundreds or thousands more targets with way more money and/or clout from a social standpoint. This just seems like a weird target.
I saw someone say in another comment on a different article that she did some of the first investigating into Epstein stuff? Is this purely a political threat and warning to others?
Edit:
From the transcripts below the video:
Johnson said national databases could help narrow down a suspect.
Is this a hit job to test out databases and make it look like they’re a good idea to ease American minds into supporting them? Once again, this almost screams political.
Or am I just tinfoil hatting?
There is something fundamental missing about this case that the media is not reporting. Kidnapping is rare and never works to get money, but that was before Kash Patel’s FBI.
So she interviewed the Epstein survivors and then her mom got kidnapped?
The FBI are lead by the dumbest people. It’s christmas for criminals, you could steal city hall
Or they’re behind it because they don’t want the survivors interviews to be released
Does anyone else just like…not care about this?
I find it difficult to believe that this kidnapping is the only one in progress and also sufficiently more important (than the other kidnappings) to justify the additional news coverage.
But, my heart does go out to her family and other loved ones.
Not sure why this is worth so much substantial resource dedication than every other kidnapping/human trafficing incident.
Yeah I mean, at the very least her family is going to be materially okay. I’d be more concerned about a family in Mexico that’s just struggling to scrape by and suddenly lost half their income and are about to be thrown into the street.
Yeah, not to sound crass. Like I wish the best of luck in a safe return and all. But this is not something that the news should be fixating on and constantly spamming.
There is way bigger shit going on right now.
I don’t care at all but it’s been at the top of Google News headlines for weeks. I saw a story today with the headline that the police chief said someone somewhere knows the perpetrator. A completely worthless statement making headline news because the victim is white and related to someone on TV.
Does anyone else just like…not care about this?
If you see how common kidnapping for ransom is in some other countries, and that now it is appearing in a nation where it was rare before, that should be concerning to most.
If the kidnappers are not found from this one, I would expect other copycats to start the same practice.
The FBI used to be good. Now they are a joke like every other branch.
