President Donald Trump is allegedly wringing eye-watering sums of money from the very same people he has decided not to let into the country.

The non-profit accuses Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and outgoing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem of charging a conservative estimate of $1.3 billion to migrants in fees for visa processing and other services they have precisely zero intention of providing.

Under Rubio’s leadership, officials at the State Department have apparently even gone so far as to issue internal guidance actively prohibiting staff from informing those migrants they stand no hope of success, because “this could be seen as pre-adjudication” on their applications.

    i’m so fucking sick of the attitude of americans. every single time it’s uncovered that this country is doing something horrifically inhumane everyone acts like they were born yesterday about it, as if all of this is brand new. we are a country built on slavery and genocide but people who are supposedly against MAGA are going “we used to be a country.” ironically, the exact same way MAGA is. there is no “infection” of the US, nothing “corrupted” this country. this country IS the infection, if you knew SHIT about world history the fucking planet you inhabit that would be incredibly obvious.

          Did you read my post? It’s easy to preach “Do something” and attack people, but you lack any actual constructive advice. Telling someone to join a local community group, volunteer in social outreach, run for office, anything. But it’s easier to point the finger and cast shame than it is to fix the situation we’re in.

            He wasn’t saying you need to change the system yourself, he just said you shouldn’t be fucking ignorant of the world at large and America’s place in it.

            I’m in America, I likely can’t and won’t do shit outside of screaming about it in my music and protesting; but I also don’t think America was ever “good”. We’ve been evil as fuck the whole time, we’re just in the “outright and blatant fascism” stage of our dying empire.

    I learned about this when I was in another country and was talking to my local friends there who just wanted to come to the United States for a vacation and they would regularly apply for visas paying hundreds of dollars each time and be denied for no particular reason at all

    this is the way it’s always been
