False. I don’t see the connection. Even if it would help, I don’t think that studying one thing is “The cure” for anything other than ignorance of that topic.
I never saw the connection either. What it does, however, is essentially make people feel they’re speaking to demons when they use AI. This isn’t true.
The real reason for the gatekeeping is just that, hall monitoring.
Understanding Marx’s ideas about alienation certainly influences my attitudes about AI but if youve got actual psychosis no ideology is a direct cure, you just need therapy
Is AI psychosis an indirect result of alienation under capitalism?
I think so, yeah. But I think a lot of things are.
Like what?
Well, if we’re estranged from the products of our own labor, as Marx argues, then we are estranged from the products of everyone else’s. Including intellectual labor. It has become increasingly difficult for the majority of the population to maintain good literacy rates, for instance. When youre alienated from everything you see and consume, it’s not easy to feel attached to the systems which got you here, leading to radicalism, for good or ill.
Why would I want AI to regurgitate the ideas that already exist? I can just read them. I want power over my life, my work, my government. Are any of these Silicon Valley tools going to give that to me? Unlikely.
I don’t see how replacing one form of sycophantic validation slop with another would help, if not maybe for the fact that socialist theory is non-interactive.
If you’re curious, AI psychosis is the phenomenon of increasing psychosis (Ie: paranoia and such) that’s connected to using AI chatbots.
Do you think I should really study socialist theory?
What a weird little non sequitur
False
