I’m with you completely. I said take the credit for it, not necessarily actually doing anything about it.

I think the police would LOVE to take the credit for dropping a mass shooter, so I don’t think they would say it was suicide if it wasn’t. (I’m not talking about Epstein situations, just the mass shooters)

The mass shooters all have different reasons behind what they do, but I’m pretty sure that they know that there is no good ending for them. To be honest, if I had just ambushed and murdered a bunch of people, I would probably end myself too.

I’m learning the more I read and write the word Meta, the less sense it makes in my brain.

You’re mostly right. Facebook bought Oculus in 2014, but kept the Oculus branding until they renamed the company Meta in 2021, THEN it became the Meta Quest 2 and required a Facebook/Meta login.

This is exactly what I meant. Sure, you can get on a plane to anywhere, but deciding where to go, leaving everyone you know, finding a home and a job and starting the paperwork for citizenship is a lot more complex than just showing up and calling it home.

I bought a Quest 2 before Meta took over the company, and have recently started using it again after letting it collect dust for a while.

I totally understand not wanting to sign up for a Zuckerberg product, but the Quest is probably one of the easiest VR setups. Just log in and go. No wires connecting you to a computer or worrying about whether or not your setup can handle the games you’re trying to run.

I’ve heard the Quest 3 is much better than the 2, but I have no experience with the 3.

Again, Meta deserves whatever hate they get, but I have to admit the Quest environment is nice and easy to work with.

People may have strong negative opinions of Russia, but I don’t think most people attach that to the people of Russia. If you left, that would mean that you do not agree with how Russia is being run, which would put you on the same side as those who aren’t fans of Russia.

That being said, it’s a whole lot more difficult to leave the country than most people would have you believe. There’s a good chance that the US is going to become more like Russia, and I don’t like it, but I don’t see any possible way that I could leave if it does.

I explain things to my kids so they know WHY we are doing them. If they have an idea as to why we should be doing it differently, like give me 10 more minutes first, or I like it this way, then I listen, consider a compromise, if at all possible.

For example, if it’s time for bed, but they’re in the middle of a fortnite match, then I let them finish it. If it’s time for school, and they just started a match, sorry, turn it off, you knew we had to leave soon.

I don’t think anyone understands ALL of them.

As you become familiar with a certain style, you notice differences between them. The deeper you dive and the more you listen to, the finer details you can recognize.

I could probably name at least 25 different genres of rock, and explain how they are different, but styles I’m not familiar with, I can usually only recognize the broadest category. Bluegrass all sounds like bluegrass to me, but an expert could identify 25 different subgenres of it.

If someone believes that drugs are bad and need to be eliminated completely, then I suppose they would think that Singapore is doing it right. They have less drugs and drugs are bad, less bad things is a good thing.

Now, anyone who thinks drugs are good, is going to have the opposite opinion. An oppressive government that won’t let us have a good thing. Less of a good thing, is bad.

Let’s say they had the same rule for video games. After all, people get addicted to them, dump tons of money into new bigger better games and systems and spend all day playing them. It keeps them from going outside, getting exercise, and contributing to the community.

Would you agree with arrest and rehab for players and the death penalty for game designers?

The general population will be healthier, but does that justify punishing people for doing something they enjoy?

They couldn’t possibly develop cutting edge technology if they weren’t doing any research.

Sure we can laugh about Windows and Office being cutting edge, but they were at one point, and that’s why they still make bank by getting it on 80% of all computers (I’m guessing, don’t hold me to that number)
