I’m becoming a grandpa at 43. Mildly infuriating, 'cause there are way worse things in life.

Why is this a bad thing? My parents would be thrilled to become grandparents.

Idiots. That said, what’s done is done, enjoy your grandbaby! And don’t let them take advantage of you.

Well I’m assuming they had the option to terminate the pregnancy if they so chose to but since they didn’t it’s probably what they want so it just seems a bit weird to be infuriated by it as her dad.

At 43 that’s probably a little earlier than the OP expected and if their daughter wasn’t planning on starting that early it’s going to affect school and job prospects.

That’s not too say it can’t work. One of my in-laws had their first at 18 and now as their last leaves for uni they are still fit and young enough to enjoy the empty nest experience.

If the parents are rich like OP mentioned they are probably connected, then daughter in law shouldn’t have too much to worry about a career.

I know a number of people who met their wives as teenagers and are happily married. So hoping all the cards match up for OP!
