I doubt this will take off like, say, GlassDoor, but if it catches on, could be an interesting resource to make oneself feel better. Orders of magnitude more data are needed for this to be useful.

    Friends and i have been sharing the same excel doc for years now. It has all the companies we have all applied to and thier respective process. Its helped weed out bad companies in our area for years.

    Wr have been talking qbout making an app for years…but its easier to just do a control f or sort. And its been close to 20 years ish. Now its a libre office sheet. Its beem through many iterations.

      This is awesome but it can never have an impact on hiring practices. Making this information public can change behaviors, given the data can’t be cooked.

        I mean there is a VERY small pool of people that are good at their jobs and in our area of expertise. And once one of us gets a good job, we usually all try to go to that company within reason.

          Fair enough. You guys can basically collude to control the labor supply, if your niche is small enough. All the more power to you; I wish more of the labor force had guns like that.

      Local subreddits used to have lists of things like top restaurants or little known museums etc. if your area has a community on Lemmy you might be able to contact the mods and see if they’d be interested in a sidebar link for it or something.
