No matter how well you understand the passage of time in the abstract it’s a shock the first time you meet a full grown adult, with their own keys and everything, but you can remember what you were doing in the year they were born.

And Time that gave doth now his gift confound.

We all feel like we understand the passage of time until we hit middle age.

nobody ever says it like that.

we say talk about it in relation to culture and trends, which is more meaningful.

when i was born, in 1981, the civil rights movement wasn’t old enough to drink alcohol. yet when i grew up i had no awareness of this when i interacted with anyone who wasn’t white.

just like someone born in 2001 doesn’t understand life without smartphones.

Yeah, this would probably be something Ema Skye reblogged on her Tumblr (dedicated to Gavinners hate posts).

(Please, there has to be SOME Ace Attorney fans on Lemmy, right? 🥲)

      *puts hand up*

      But only the OT.

But enough of a fan that I spent 11 years studying Japanese to translate the Dreamaga fanbook. And nowadays, you could just put it through google translate 😭😭😭

Yoooo deadass, you would love the Great Ace Attorney duology. You’re the exact kind of Western AA nerd Capcom was targeting with that one lol. Highly recommend that if you ever want to get back into the series.

Oh I think I have that on 3DS, I was going to play it after Layton vs Phoenix Wright, which I started a few months ago but then forgot about.

Screw the sequel trilogy though. I put it in the same box as the Mickey trilogy.

(A group of us made a fangame once, but we abandoned the project because I’m difficult to work with lol. If you’re interested, case 1 is complete and quite short: https://gyakutensisters.wordpress.com/our-cases/)

I love a good AA fangame, thanks for the link! I watched the opening and got to the court, I’m ready to defend Starling with my life. I’ll sit down and play through it when I have a bit of time. You guys did pretty good emulating the vibes tbh.
