Cristy Maryori Villafranca-Trejo, deported to Honduras, is latest military spouse to face removal amid Trump 2.0

The wife of an active-duty US soldier was deported on Monday to her native Honduras, according to her family and the federal Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Cristy Maryori Villafranca-Trejo is at least the seventh spouse or parent of an active-duty US soldier to be deported under the immigration crackdown during Donald Trump’s second presidency.

The Associated Press has found more than 50 cases in which immediate family members of US troops were placed in federal immigration detention after the Trump administration rolled back protections for military families. In some instances, the DHS has released military spouses after media attention and advocacy by congressional leaders.

    >US Soldier

The article conveniently leaves out who this soldier voted for in the last presidential election and I suspect that might change some peoples’ opinions

      Compliant and complicit, evidently.

Even 99.999999% of the Trump-hating veterans just sit on ass and talk shit about him without doing anything.

Probably like fucking morons considering many of them voted for Trump in the first place. Most of the military and much of the Latino community voted for him. For some stupid unknown fucking reason, they thought Trump was going to protect them.

Latinos voting for a proven racist conman was something I really never expected. Like somehow they were “the good ones”

It comes down to one thing with Latinos, their religious beliefs. They are staunchly against abortion. And since the only option for voting for them are conservatives, they don’t have a lot of choices to make.

It’s a really weird phenomenon. Another uncomfortable factor is that many immigrant or black families will bring more socially conservative traditional values with them, so they’ll lean “conservative” because our “left” seems extreme and weird on identity politics issues and being seemingly lax on crime.

…but…when the only “conservative” choice is freaking maga, I can’t understand how that isn’t a terrifying prospect with even the slightest bit of lookup.

I know there’s gotta be some interview content out there trying to understand this.

Maybe there also really is some component of “If I voted for the evil imperialist overlords who will probably win, perhaps they’ll spare us in particular”, but I’m speculating on that point…

You know, I always considered feeding your officers steak and wine while barely providing gruel to the enlisted was the worst idea you could have prior to sending troops into combat. (That resulted in the Sailor’s Revolution of 1917 in Germany).

Now I am delighted to have been proven otherwise. Deporting the close family members of troops is clearly more stupid. I mean, they are trained to kill, are armed and have access to military goods no one else has access to as well as often having quite the clearence and access to key personell. I wouldn’t be surprised if members of the US military would start unloading on their political leadership. Hell, I would applaud them.

They can do destuctive and expensive things thst don’t even involve directly shooting someone. I wonder if they ever figured out what caused that laundry room fire on the Ford?
