Seeing all the comments defending the bump is wild. He’s coming up to a clear turn, 1. 2, what if someone is driving on that road for the first time? Do they deserve damage to their car for going the fucking speed limit‽

Seriously, all speed bumps need to be visibly painted.

the point of speed bumps isn’t to slow to a crawl just before you hit them and then carry on speeding (which is what everyone does…)

if you’re actually going the speed limit, it shouldn’t damage anything…

Most speed bumps/humps these days require you to go below the speed limit to avoid damage to the car unless you’re driving some jacked-up monster with loose suspension.

Idk…a lot of speed bumps I’ve come across are crazy violent. They aren’t sloped enough and instead project upwards very abruptly.

Obviously, not every speed bump is the same, but still.

I really would prefer for hidden speed bumps to not exist when I’m riding my motorcycle, for example, where that can be a rather dangerous “feature” of the road.

You haven’t encountered many of these short speed bumps. The longer ones are like that. But no short speed bumps is safe to go over at anything but a crawl.

Most speed bumps in the usa will fuck up your car, or at least give you a really bad day if you hit them at anything over 3mph. There are milder versions with names like “speed pillows” that let you go a little faster, but even those don’t let you go the full speed limit.

Yeah that speed bump holds the memories (and undercarriage shavings) of all the cars that traveled that road for the first time.
