Nowadays I’m married, and cuddling my wife and listening to her breathing are generally all the help I need to drift to sleep, but back when I was living alone I’d throw on either a playlist of Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes (comforting old ones I’d seen a zillion times and could zone out to) or the eclectic online music station Radio Paradise.
I’ve always been pretty good at lucid dreaming, and in those days having some dream scenario randomly interrupted by the soothing voice of Radio Paradise owner Bill Goldsmith doing a song intro or the wisecracks of MST’s Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot would help clue me in that I was dreaming.
