You don’t get to pretend you’re anti Republican while simultaneously only broadcasting on Paramount. These chodes would do anything for 5 minutes of attention if it’ll bring in a couple bucks.

I’m completely on board with this mockery.

I will point out, however, that the author of the article has misunderstood the underlying issue a bit.

During his second term, Trump has also signed an executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America” even though parts of it lie in international waters.

Things in international waters need to get named somehow, and basically what happens is that each country gets to choose what to call it. There are frequent disagreements. Even if you look at “Gulf of Mexico”, “of” is English, so probably Mexico didn’t use that exact name.

No, the issue isn’t that Trump tried to rename something in international waters. It’s that the rename is meaningless and petty, and that it’s for something that all Americans already knew and had no problem with. It’s extremely likely that if our democracy survives, the next president will order the name back to the original one.

I mean, we call it Cologne, Germany, and we renamed Tahoma – the fuck does any of this matter? Dude is accused of fucking children, our economy and the cost of living gets worse by the day, our civil liberties are not so much being violated as much as they are completely ignored and systemically violated, we’ve entered yet another endless war, and he can’t even establish a competent cabinet let alone govern – but sure let’s talk about his goofy executive orders that can be fixed with the stroke of a pen when he’s finally out of office.

It only matters because people voted Trump in despite him being convicted of so many felonies and despite him being found civilly liable for sexual assault and despite the fact that he’s just so transparently a real life villain.

So if all of that isn’t convincing, what do you do? One thing is you can emphasize how embarrassing Trump is. Some people will change allegiance just to not feel like an embarrassing loser.

It’s just increasingly hard for me to believe that there weren’t election shenanigans – how the fuck did this guy get elected a second time?! Not only is that an illustration how terrible our population is at electing people, but it’s also an example of how terrible the Democrats are at selecting and running candidates. Fucking depressing.

Kamala or Biden still would have been 1000x better than tiny d.

I would not be surprised at all to learn that the election was rigged.

It’s almost so perfect I’d guess they named the show 28 years ago just so they could pull this off today.

Let’s not glaze them too hard. South Park’s “both sides” bullshit, “giant douche or turd sandwich” politics and “ManBearPig” habit of treating earnest concern as proof that you were the sucker went a long way to convincing a generation or two of young men that cynically sneering at sincerity and being intellectual lazy is really very principled. I say this as a fan, but they realized FAR too late that the stakes were real, and there is a strong argument to be made that the US wouldn’t be where it is right now if not for Parker and Stone.

Yikes, if I glazed you just gave them the Marilyn manson/Columbine shooting treatment. A strong argument that the US wouldn’t be where it was if not for South Park? C’mon.

They’re at their best when others are nervous or scared or intimidated to approach a subject.

It would make more sense if they named it America Park.
I guess the joke is partly because South America is a continent and its supposed to highlight stupidity.

It would be both imo. Trump would rename a park called South Park to America Park, not South America.

Well which is a dumber choice? America Park or South America?

I would argue that choosing South America is dumber, because that’s already a thing. And I’m asserting right now that the dumber choice is funniest.

I find America Park much more amusing and topical. The dumbness was renaming things, not how dumb he renames them.

He didnt call it the America of Mexico or America Ontario, which is the same as South America.
