I always thought it seemed kind of dumb to own a manual nowadays considering how prevalent automatics are and how simple they are to drive. I had never ridden a manual but it seemed like too much work.
Well I got a motorcycle earlier this year (most are manual), and now I definitely understand the appeal of a manual vehicle. I actually get annoyed at my automatic car due to the lack of throttle response compared to my bike. It’s a lot more fun on the bike. And I have a slow as fuck bike.
But I still don’t know if I would replace my car with a manual car because it can also be nice to just chill while driving.
Not most standard cars, no. Mazda still sells one or two manuals. Cadillac still had at least one as late as last year. They’re almost dead, but not quite. I walk, bike or take public transportation most of the time. Sometimes I’ll go a few months without driving. Still, I’ll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I give up the stick shift. [Shakes fist and yells at cloud]
The fact that it’s a manual ruins the joke. They don’t make manuals anymore, and no one who owns one would put that windshield on it.
Most cars in the rest of the world are manual.

New ones aren’t. In fact, most new cars in Europe are electric.
So unless there’s some manual electric out there I haven’t heard of I’d say most new cars are automatic.
☝️🤓 ACKSHUALLY
EVs aren’t automatic, either. They just have a single, fixed gear like those hipster bikes from a few years back.
