For those as curious as me: The suit is about the fact that the mcrib is rib shaped, yet contains no rib meat.

Not to defend a giant corporation but if they do this, they better go after Banquet and all the other frozen food manufacturers that make those fake-ass ribs.

mcdonalds is far from the only one that uses a similar ‘rib shape’. they all do, from food service to the grocery store freezer to gas station food… many even use ‘rib’ in the name, too.

mcdonalds has been ‘faking it’ for 45 years… how about the others? as long? even longer?

the generic ‘pork’ ingredient listing could very well contain “rib meat”.

      there’s no case here.

mcdonald’s only crime is the price they charge for them. the ones literally next door at the gas station here, and which are available all the time not just ‘for a limited time only’, cost less than one-third the price and are at least a mcrib’s equal if not better.

Not surprised. I had one for the first time during the last release, and it was disgusting. I honestly can’t understand why anyone likes it.

So very clearly nothing like a rib, with highly questionable pressed meat and something meant to ‘feel’ like gristle. They try to fool you, but it doesn’t work.

Has to have been. There’s no way actual humans were excited for that thing.

It’s and MRE from a fast food chain. It’s like how my BIL would say MREs are trash and then take a can of chef boyRD to field. Like dude it’s the same shit. lol

While MREs taste gross, they’ll stay edible until the end of time. I think that’s a fair trade. The McRib is just gross with no upsides.

I know, I played the SteveMRE game. I tried out a 65 Vietnam era mre; for the cigarettes really lol; but I feel bad because it had a peanut butter tin inside of a tin that was in perfect condition, as in you wouldn’t be able to tell it was old. Tasted great–probably the best peanut butter I’ve ever had. Talk about some Fallout food. The coconut crackers weren’t bad either.

And I agree the McRub, last I had one already tasted like plastic. It’s like the MRE pizzas, what is this?

I could have sworn that this was already litigated previously and that McDs won. Clearly not given this situation, but it has certainly been a topic of discussion in the past.

The suit is not about the shape of the rib, it’s about its content. The shape is merely a tactic to deceive. The article describes this in the first and second sentence. Read the article.
