European leaders push back against Washington’s proposal for a broader security framework, warning that Moscow cannot dictate the continent’s future as US-led peace negotiations over Ukraine prepare to resume in Abu Dhabi.
Nobody is cutting deals with Trump. You can’t trust he’ll honor it tomorrow, because he absolutely won’t. Better to wait for the next guy, and the new, post-MAGA America.
Will there be a next guy?
Will there be a next guy?
The grim reaper spares no man.
Yeah his name is putin 😆 Jk, next guy is the same guy aka John bezoz-zuckerberg-musk-nathenyahu-w/e saudi prince Smith.

Both sociopathic pieces of shit.
Psychopathic
He probably believes that by forcefully calling it big and beatiful he can will those qualities into existence. Classic billionaire mentality, if I am saying it, it must be correct. Plus a significant dose of college grade bullyism.
“if I am saying it, it must be correct” is not billionaire mentality. It’s mentality of abusive person.
he reminds me of a relative that has Alzheimers. Same obsessiveness, grudges over every perceived slight, making things up and getting irrationally mad about them, etc etc.
Same thing
billionaires tend to do this quite alot, there is certainly a correlation. I think there is also a causation, i.e among people with opportunities it is easier to become a billionaire if you are abusive.
Trying to unite all the good white nations? Definitely not white supremacist.
I am white and he is not trying to unite my nation. Ukraine is all white and he is definitely not trying to unite it. Unless conquest is considered unification.
He’s trying to unite Ukraine with Russia. Kumbaya, motherfucker, or else!
Heh, trump does not care about unifying or saving Ukraine, he just cared about not wasting american military ressources going after a war that was just a failed attempt at expanding nato closer to Russian borders. If that happened, they would be able to sneak in covert military members far more easily.
I meant this as in, Trump has shown preferentialism for white nations as far as accords he has signed. Whilst Obama was trying in his time to negotiate the trans pacific partnership in his time, Trump has been avoiding people who do not have the same skin color as him. It speaks a lot on his intelligence imo.
Any deal with trump should be rejected, as the rest of the world well knows. Just wait until that dishounourable degenerate gasbag goes away so we can all start using pens again.
It is an insecurity deal.
For an insecure administration.
You don’t even have to dignify him with a response at this point. Just say that your looking forward to the working with the next legitimate leader of the United States
Gotta refute it or the orange guy will think they agreed.
He’s still got the football for the next two years…for now.
I guarantee his handlers replaced it with a football phone some time ago, and I doubt he’s noticed. Even when it rings
They literally took the suit case and have given the dumbass a football shaped phone with a nuclear sticker on it
Exactly! You think Trump knows what it actually looks like? It’s called a football, so football shaped.
Although I doubt they even cared enough to find an actual nuclear sticker. I bet they found an old Mr. Yuk sticker in a drawer somewhere and slapped that on, knowing Trump would never notice
This isn’t a Trump thing. The EU is simply no longer a major power. The next leader of the US might be more polite about it, but they will also put Europe on the menu, so to say.
Weird then that Russia, China and the US are all so concerned over what the EU is doing?
If the EU is a fading power what about the US who’s strength lay in the quality of their logistics matched with a vast array of potent allies? So much of their institutional knowledge has been lost, stripped out by a man who thought that testosterone levels made for a better military. Thats not to even mention the cimplete destruction of so many civilian institutions because of doge. All their allies goodwill has been pissed away because they looked at the sweetheart deals they were getting and demanded more and more and more. Their economy was bet entirely on AI.
Then what of Russia? It’s economy is bleeding out much like it’s military and diplomatically it has become a pariah.
China is doing better than Russia or the US by a considerable margin but it has it’s own problems and is staring down the barrel of demographic collapse.
The EU is not without it’s flaws but I find it strange in the current geopolitical landscape to look at the EU and declare it the fading power.
Weird then that Russia, China and the US are all so concerned over what the EU is doing?
The EU has a lot of money and resources that can be taken over (mostly by the US, Russia might get a deal to keep eastern Europe neutral).
A huge advantage the EU had was that they had good relations with all three superpowers. They had Russian fuel, Chinese components, the protection of the US military, and access to the markets of all three. That was an insanely lucrative position to be in. Now, the EU no longer has access to Russian or Gulf fuel, and must buy much more expensive fuel from the US. (A deal with Canada could help here.) It has started a trade war with China, one in which ‘the cards are made in China’. And now it has to either accept an unequal treaty with the US (less bad in the short run), or break relations with the last of the superpowers (probably the less bad choice in the long run).
Another problem is the loss of the (neo)colonies. Many European countries had political control, or at least economic influence, over countries in Asia and Africa. But this weakens as those countries develop, and with China expanding their relations through the Belt and Road initiative, these countries can now play off the EU / IMF against China to get better deals, or even switch to Chinese loans (very useful if China is already their biggest trading partner).
As for the US and Russia, yes they are also weakening, but they started off higher so they have longer to fall before they lose the superpower status. They also have the two biggest nuclear arsenals on the planet (~1700 deployed warheads each), more than six times the size of third-placed France (~300).
The Art of the Deal
The Shart of the Deal
And one of the new Congress’s first orders of business is to shut this treason down.
What needs to be remembered with the pedotator (thanks stumu415@lemmy.zip, I love it) is that his handlers work for the largest arms manufacturing companies / country in the world. Destabilizing shit is profit. Glad to see more and more of the world not putting up with the crap.
Ditch ‘NATO’ (It’s dead Jim) military spending requirements via % of GDP, Europe just needs enough the fend off a Russia that’s mostly spent on Ukraine (which should be heartily supported) for a few years until Putin inevitably gets defenestrated.
Two years of un-neutered Trump was enough to finally break Pax Americana, I guess we’re moving towards Pax Sino or whatever it gets called. Sure would be nice if the middle powers got together and headed that off. Much as I like the concept of the U.N. the veto powers hobble it as a true vehicle of international unity, maybe everyone should join the EU?
Here’s hoping the Dems actually keep the cheeto clown tied up in serious litigation and red tape for the next two years and the demented fool doesn’t get to release the nukes. Actually effective impeachment sure would be nice. Doesn’t he look tired?
Ditch ‘NATO’ (It’s dead Jim) military spending requirements via % of GDP, Europe just needs enough the fend off a Russia
Trump’s biggest complaint about NATO is the lack of spending commitments from other countries, but realistically why should the other powers spend money on defense when, entirely of their own volition, the US seems to cover it all? This is what the Republicans cannot answer, they chose to spend eye watering amounts of money on their own military, no one forced them to do this, they could have funded social care but instead they went with more bombs.
All of their complaints should be referred back to their own policy decisions.
No arguments beyond ‘the US seems to cover it all’ is a trap.
What does europe do in the new world when china invades taiwan? Nothing?
What does it do abiut russian drone attacks supported by china?
Realistically, nobody will do much if China invades Taiwan. The 9nly reasons they don’t is first the example of the shitshow in Ukraine (a smaller power can resist a grater one for a long time) and economic (collapse of the whole semiconductor industry).
This whole presidenture would be so hilarious is he couldn’t do any damage to other people and our allies.
I bet Russians and Chinese laughing out loud how he is destroying the West.
I’m glad that EU stopped with trying to please him. That never worked.
China, at least, has to be thrilled. Trump ceded so many economic sectors to China. EVs, solar power, nuclear power, among others
Not only that, but his war on Iran pushed the world towards those technologies much faster than it otherwise would have
Trump only really gave Putin a bit more time to draw out his war on Ukraine
Been sayin’ since the 90s that the 21st is China’s century. Didn’t expect an American President to put his foot on the fucking gas to get there.

Sounds like there’s no details and it’s a refutation of the entire concept.
The initiative has immediately drawn objections from European officials, who insist that the continent’s security arrangements are already established and cannot be renegotiated over their heads.
They’re not even willing to hear him out and I’m very much in favour of this development.
What more than Ukraine can they carve up? Russia can’t conquer the EU. Even the Baltics, how could Russia enter while the EU has air superiority?
I don’t think Russia would attack the EU either, but air superiority is rather outdated in the age of missiles and drones.
Russia can’t conquer the EU.
A Russia/US alliance could.
They could maybe try to scavenge the ashes. Us and Russia might have enough nukes to destroy the world 100 times but both France and UK have enough for 3 or 4.
In theory, but what would be there to conquer for the US? With Blackrock they already control the companies.
The US has just pushed Russia out of Syria and Armenia. Why would Russia cooperate? A Russian alliance is only a threat to the European public so that they accept the American dominance.
To what end though?
Imeperialism?
Not just the pedotator and his master. Also Kushner is involved. Why is Kushner involved when the Dutch have already proven he is a paid traitor? He’s not even a government official.
From the article. “Kushner sought to reassure European partners that they would not be excluded from the wider process. He said Washington intended to consult closely with them on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi negotiations and, if progress was achieved, move towards a broader multilateral format involving their direct participation.”
Luckily no one outside of the US takes anything that comes out of any branch of the US government seriously. Just shrug and move on. Circus de Sac à merde.
Trump’s son literally married a Russian oligarchs asset, had wedding events paid for by the Russians. Kushner may’ve been a traitor in some ways, but the Trumps are tied to the Russian by blood/marriage at this point. The Republicans don’t view helping Russia as being a traitor, but as being loyal to their family.
Kushner. 🙄 If there was ever a time to use the Logan Act.
“Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.”
They’ll just argue that the president gave him that authority. Trump’d also auto-pardon the guy, and anyone else the dems go after, so long as he’s president. It’s likely why democrats are claiming they won’t go after people as a priority. If in 2 years Americans elect a democrat (big if, as 2 years of blue-dominance “may” re-energize the republican base, and 2 years of duck l’orange may be enough for Americans to forget), then I’d say its more plausible they’d try to hold someone accountable… but also, at that point, they may just try to ‘move on’ / ‘turn the page’, feigning moral high ground, while allowing their cohorts to get away with their actions.
Like left and right wing politicians are really two sides of the same coin, pushing the same broad agenda. In Canada, for example, we just saw a case where a conservative unknown came into power… in large part, I’d argue, because the left-wing incumbents had backed themselves into a corner they couldn’t get out of: the party leader wanted to repeal bad legislation, but factions in his party veto’d it. They couldn’t balance the books, largely because public sector workers just kept getting hired, and unions won pretty much every negotiation, because the left wing government had to be pro-union all the time – so public sector salaries were tanking gov spending. They made a giant mess trying to push their social policies, got a few wins in the process… but then noped out, to let the conservatives come in and be the ‘bad guys’ cutting things. Then when people get annoyed by cuts, the left wingers can get in to power in a future election cycle, and start the process over again.
European leaders have firmly rejected any attempt by the United States and Russia to reshape the continent’s security architecture without their involvement, following President Donald Trump’s suggestion that Washington could be nearing a sweeping agreement with Moscow extending beyond Ukraine to encompass all of Europe.
The remarks, made by Trump on Thursday, have raised fresh concerns among Washington’s European allies that the US administration could be moving towards a security arrangement that accommodates Russian President Vladimir Putin’s long-standing demands at the expense of European interests.
Seems like we’re into the dangerous phase where the autocrats realize they won’t be around forever so have to move quickly to realize their dream of annexing every country they can. Hopefully they can be held off and kept busy, but then we have to watch out for the even more dangerous phase of “If I can’t have it, no one can.”
