I don’t like this meme. Not because of the politics involved or anything, it just doesn’t make sense.
I know it’s supposed to be a subversion of “They’re the same picture”, but now the conversation doesn’t work anymore.
Corporate wants you to find the difference between the two pictures, not just confirm that they are indeed different. They know that.
The point is that they are so clearly different pictures that it doesn’t need explained
should’ve changed it to similarities in the first panel.
That’s probably exactly what happened.
Anyway, I’m glad you reposted. This is a good point that people need to remember.
Reddit is just another Israeli propaganda hole pretending to be objective and fair. All those stereotypes of the “Jews are controlling the media” sure are not being dismissed with their handling of the latest crisis information coming out. At this point I give zero fucks for Israel or funding them anything, it’s not good seeing US arms destroying innocents, and that includes our shitty foreign policy on other nations. We need to stop acting like petulant angry chimps.
“Jews are controlling the media”
“The US bourgeoisie control the anglophone media and Israel is their aircraft carrier in the middle east”
I hate how much people are able to channel antizionism into antisemitism, and how Israel actively encourages it.
I think because it suggests that there is such thing as Israeli Ethnostate. There is Israel, in which you have about 25% Arab citizens. Far from being ethnostate, the Arab citizens enjoy equal rights and protections from the state.
Israel passed a controversial new “nation-state law” last week that’s sparking both celebration and fierce debate over the very nature of Israel itself.
The law does three big things:
It states that “the right to exercise national self-determination” in Israel is “unique to the Jewish people."
It establishes Hebrew as Israel’s official language, and downgrades Arabic — a language widely spoken by Arab Israelis — to a “special status.”
It establishes “Jewish settlement as a national value” and mandates that the state “will labor to encourage and promote its establishment and development.”
Fuck no.

Are you blatantly lying or are you just incredibly misinformed?

I would like people making this difference with every nation and not just the one or two sainted ones.
Replace “Israeli Ethnostate” and “Jewish People” with “Palestinian Ethnostate” and “Palestinian People.” If you can’t do that without it sounding like hate speech, then your post is antisemitic.
Palestine doesn’t even possess the sovereignty they would need to be an ethnostate . . .
wat
Just weird how Japan, Korea, France, Sweden, Ethiopia, China, Turkey, India, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Denmark, South Sudan, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Nigeria, Rwanda, Morocco, Palestine, Italy, Greece, Syria, Lebanon, Austria, Croatia, Moldova, Pakistan, Nepal, India, Thailand, Yemen, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Laos, Vietnam, Ireland, Armenia, Serbia, Uganda, etc…
…are all states created as a homeland for a particular ethnic group, yet only one ethnic group is criticized for it. 🤔
LMAO what a horrible take, not even one of those countries originated in a similar way to Israel 💀
only one ethnic group is criticized for it
China had received international condemnation for the treatment of Uyghurs (recently) and other groups (historically). Rwanda’s treatment of minorities was pretty big news a while back. I don’t think you’d need to look too far for coverage on the treatment of recent immigrants in the EU.
China had received international condemnation for the treatment of Uyghurs
Most Muslim countries do not condemn it. Most countries that are cool with bombing muslim countries condemn it. Curious.
I don’t understand your statement. Can you explain it?
He says it’s ok to torture Muslims because other Muslims also torture Muslims and are OK with it or don’t care, so we should all be OK with it as well, or at the very least not care about them. Perfectly sound logic, you see.
No, what he’s saying is almost every Muslim country has sent investigators to China, and not one has found evidence of torture or abuse.
Not a guy but yeah
My bad, I’m terrible about that. Thanks for politely calling me out, it reinforces in me the need to not assume gender online.
Not a man, stop assuming everyone on the internet is a man.
The Muslim countries who send delegations claim there isn’t a genocide. The people who historically have used Muslim extremism to destabilize countries and then bomb the shit out of their local population leading to hundreds of thousands or millions of casualties still claim that China’s anti-extremism program was genocide.

Wow, this definitely is the most insane claim I have seen in the last 3 months at least.
Lmao, source?
Literally any history book my friend
I’ve got a book about the history of trains, but I’ve not seen anything about this. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
Im not your friend guy, and nah the onus is on you to give me a source that says every state you listed is an ethnostate, not just say, ‘rEaD a hIsToRy bOoK’
Glad we’re friends. We can still be friends if you want to.
Edit “not your friend” so you got a source?
Well you edited your comment that said we were friends, now I have to edit mine.
What’s your source for the original claim that Israel is an ethnostate?

Israel is also a pluralistic society, in which all citizens (a quarter of which are not Jewish) are guaranteed complete equal rights under the law. There are multiple Arab parties in the parliament (Knesset).
Can you explain why France has a greater number of Arabic speakers than Israel but no Arabic language schools, while Israel has hundreds of state funded Arabic language schools that parents can choose to send their kids?
Really, foreign powers went into Japan, colonized it, held it for decades, and then gave it to a group of people who aren’t from there and forced 700,000 indigenous Japanese to leave their country and live in a concentration camp?
As a student of history, how many “decades” was Palestine under rule by a foreign power before 1948? What date were the people of Palestine first conquered?
The difference I’ve seen is that people generally seem to be able to call out the crimes or bad behaviour of any of these governments without being called ‘racist to _____ ethnic group’. It has to go both ways, people need to stop blaming the crimes of Israeli governing party on the Jewish people as a whole, AND supporters of the that party’s actions need to stop labelling any criticism of them as antisemitic.
Jewish people aren’t an ethnic group any more than Christians, Muslims, Buddhists etc.
Judaism is simply a religion.
Edit: Well TIL. Apologies, I didn’t mean to appear ignorant. Thank you to the people who have pointed out my misunderstanding. I will be reading more about this and try to get a better grasp on this topic.
You are 100% wrong. The word “Jewish” has a dual meaning and you’re ignoring the more relevant one. Try consulting a dictionary sometime. Or talk to a Jew about what it means to be Jewish.
False.
Here’s some education for you, buddy:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_ethnic_divisions
Judaism is a religion, yes.
Jewish people comprise of a few ethnic groups.
Jewish people also comprise a cultural group, which overlaps with Judaism the religion.
We absolutely are. Defining Judaism as a religion alone is ignorant and christocentric.
Judaism has always been a people of a singular national identity, defined by common origin, language, history, sense of identity, culture, folklore, music, clothing, cuisine, etc.
Judaism has always been a people of a singular national identity
No. National identity is a relatively modern idea for any group of people. Being Jewish is being part of a culture, not a nation.
The person you’re responding to is an ass but you’re swinging too far in the opposite direction.
Fair enough. Not sure the best way to translate the concept of עם ישראל
In order to be Jewish your mother needs to be Jewish. Converted Jews are widely shunned by the Jewish community.
Anyone can convert to those other religions without needing a certain ethnicity.
“widely shunned”?
I’ve seen the opposite - welcomed with open arms.
