Former President Donald J. Trump asked the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday to keep him on the primary ballot in Colorado, appealing an explosive ruling from the state Supreme Court declaring him ineligible based on his efforts to overturn the 2020 election that culminated in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

The move adds to the growing pressure on the U.S. Supreme Court to act, given the number of challenges to Mr. Trump’s eligibility and the need for a nationwide resolution of the question as the primaries approach.

I’m actually OK with him to be on the primary ballots, as I don’t read the a14 as disabling him from those. Being a parties’ candidate is no “office”.

But I very clearly see and demand that he has absolutely no place on the presidential ballot papers.

I see what you’re saying except the Colorado constitution says they have to put the Primary winner’s name on the ballot: 1-4-104

The names of the nominees shall be printed on the official ballot prepared for the ensuing general election.

So allowing someone who is ineligible to be on the general ballot would just set it up to have to ignore the State’s constitution.

While you have a point there, I’m afraid that lawyers might pick their points and simply run the A14 against the Colorado constitution.

But on the other hand, as a reason someone might get excluded from the ballot might always come up after the primaries, I still see no problem to remove someone from the ballot even if he won the primaries. Heck, the A14 might even disqualify someone even after the vote in November. Or later. The A14 disqualifies from office, not from appearing on a ballot paper.

If he can’t be a candidate he shouldn’t be able to run for it and scam old people into buying Trump NFTs to fund his “campaign.”

At this point I can’t be bothered to care. If they don’t realize by now he’s a conman, they never will and nobody is going to be able to convince them otherwise.

I’m just confused beyond belief why people give him credence. His refusal to acknowledge COVID as more than a hoax, and his policies on free trade have dive bombed local, and world economies.

Never charged or convicted of insurrection. He is entitled to due process, like every other American. Get over it.

Confederate officers participated in a war that over 600k people died in. Trump told a bunch of goobers to peacefully and patriotically make their voices heard. Not the same thing. But I get it, Biden’s presidency has been a disaster and he will lose an election against Trump. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it.

They erected a gallows, to hang the Vice President, after your dear leader told them if they “didn’t fight like hell, they wouldn’t have a country”. But yeah, peaceful and patriotic. GTFO

Don’t forget one of his lawyers is testifying that they made fake electors to bring and lie to steal the presidency. Which paints the reason Trump turned on his VP. Pence found out, and did his job/duty to his country. He stood up and made sure Trump couldn’t stop the Presidential transition. Pence had shit views on very many things, but there is a good chance he will go down in history for not being a coward when his back was put up against the wall. He may be the one who ends up with a statue for “saving america” one day.

He’s a fucking traitor who enacted a plan to topple the United States government by refusing a peaceful transfer to a democratically elected President.

Thats some tin pot dictator bullshit that has NO place in America. And neither do you, if you still follow that filthy seditionist.

“Fight like hell” he said, also asked the proud boys, those domestic terrorists, to “stand down, and stand by.”

Not a peaceful protest. Did you not see the footage that was broadcast live for the world to see? Or are you one of those delusional idiots that needs to learn that simping for a so-called billionaire that’s begging you for every dollar you can spare makes you a pretty laughable mark.

The last election wasn’t even close and that was with a hobbled post office. The Dow is at 37k, unemployment is low, Republicans are losing interest and purple Colorado just went blue.

          America doesn’t want fascism.

Due process is for criminal/civil procedures. 14th amendment is concerned with job eligibility, not a loss of life, liberty, or pursuit of freedom for which due process is inherently provided.

I am not awarded due process when I apply for a new job, nor should I.

Ruling made by state supreme COURT. Claims lack of “due process”. Have you EVER taken a civics course or just have your PhD from Fox News?
