If it’s riding up the sides of your mattress, it’s probably not big enough for your mattress. Sheets say on the package something like, “fits mattresses up to 11 inches tall”. If your mattress is taller than that, it’ll ride up.

Lay it on your box spring, with the 4 clips pointing at the 4 corners of the bed. Lay your mattress back down. Put your fitted sheet on, and clip each suspender clip to each corner of the sheet, under the mattress.

Deep pocket sheets work wonders. Suspenders never worked for us.

there trick is to pull the elastic down far enough so it reaches over the bottom edge of the mattress.

forget folding it neatly. you can adult without that skill

Glue it to your bed. To wash, hose it down every few months. It takes about a week to dry the mattress, so you just have to get used to sleeping on a damp surface. Apply Febreze liberally.

Buy nicer sheets and you may need to buy the ones made for a deep mattress.

As a last resort you can buy clip on sheet holders that will make sure they won’t come off, but at some point you’ll probably end up ripping your sheet if you use them.

I didn’t see anybody else share how to fold a fitted sheet, so here you go. This is how I’ve been folding mine for several years now. It’s a game-changer.

I am the bottom sheet in my bed. I feel you, I can barely deal with myself.

I’m currently laying in a crumpled up mess of sheets that came off the corners. This is my life now.

They sell elastic with clips you can use to hold your sheets in place. They’re a pain in the ass to switch if you don’t know how.

My technique is to stretch the clean fitted sheet over the old one and move the clips one side at a time, then pull out the old sheet from under it.

Mattresses have an enormous variance in thickness, and sheets vary considerably in the depth of the “pocket.” If your sheets can barely fit over a too-thick mattress, then they’re going to pop off when you move on them. You might just want to buy some new sheets with a deeper pocket. Alternatively, you can buy elastic straps that go under the bed and clip onto the sheets. You’ll generally either find these as a four pack of short ones that are meant to go only at the corners, or as a two pack of long ones meant to stretch under the entire bed and attach opposite sides. Get the long ones; they generally perform much better.

There should be enough give to tuck the corners and sides underneath your mattress.

If not you may need deeper sheets.

Do you latch your sheets below your matress’ corners? They’re usually meant to fully cover the top and all sides, except for those with no elastic.

Or, perhaps the elastic has gotten too lash, so they slip out from below and ride up the sides?

I don’t have a proper solution for washing and drying, except putting them in a washing bag so they don’t eat all the other laundry.
