Hey people!

I played Undertale about a year after release, but accidentally did not do a pacifist run, resulting in me not being able to get the “true” ending without fully playing the game from start again. I left it there, pretty happy with my experience.

A month ago I decided to give it another go, mainly because of an interest in the earthbound series and also because I might try out Deltarune and wanted to be up to speed.

This game is just so… nice. The subjects, the insecurities that are mentioned, the hopefulness, the acceptance of everyone that just permeates throughout the whole work, it’s astounding. The characters are all so imperfect and charming in their own way. I’ve been going through a tough period myself and a lot of the messages about acceptance of who you are and connection with people you love just really hit home.

I know this game is already highly regarded and I’m saying nothing new here, but I just wanted to share what it did for me and that it really, really holds up.

It’s a game that kinda sprung up out of nowhere and exploded in popularity, but the popularity was well deserved it is a pretty good game. The younger fanbase being a bunch of over excited and obsessed turned off a lot of people, but I feel like it’s a little silly to hate something because kids were acting like children.

It’s always good to mention “famously good” games. I played dark souls a year ago for the first time because of a post like this I saw.

To people who haven’t played Undertale; you’ll probably like it, it’s very good.

Great game, sadly I never played it because I watched it through Jacksepticeye and by the time I decided to play, I’ve already finish watching his series. Can’t really enjoy a story driven game when you’ve already watched it.

Edit: If you already finished, I really recommend watching Jacksepticeye’s playthrough if you are into watching gameplays.

I was in the same situation but with Ross and Barry playing through it on Game Grumps. Even without playing it myself though, the game is truly something special.

Did they play through genocide? If not, then you can play it yourself for an extra bit of content and the banger music it provides.

Yes, Jacksepticeye did play the Genocide. Honestly, his reaction is quite funny to watch. I highly recommend his channel. (Not sponsored, just a very devoted fan 😅) Very wholesome Irish lad btw, so far I’ve not seen even one controversy. He’ve also showed support of LGBT+ community so I feel very good watching his channel.

I’m glad you finally got a chance to play it. I played it back in 2020, and it was the kind of game I needed to get me through those times.

I’ve been enjoying Deltarune too. I can’t wait for the game to be finished.

I loved every second of playing Undertale. I got genuinely happy for the characters and I even cried a little. Definitely a masterpiece!

Time for a Genocide run so you can casually murder all of the characters that you’ve become attached to!
