  • I know you’re being antagonized, but I object to this statement. I used to read headlines/excepts on Reddit about “so-and-so thinks this and said that!” and then I’d go watch an unedited video of the speech, and I was like, “that’s your takeaway?” It’s always some shit like:

Interviewer “Do you think if Russia launches nukes, it will impact Medicaid?”

Interviewee: “I think if there’s nukes in the air, Medicaid will be the least of our concerns.”

News headline “POLITICAL FIGURE ISN’T CONCERNED ABOUT CUTS TO MEDICAID!”.

  • Minister of Forests Bruce Ralston said at a provincial briefing on Thursday that while most wildfires over the summer months are caused by lightning, the majority of fires that start in September or beyond are caused by people.

Of course climate change is causing the droughts leading to our roadsides and forests drying up into tinder, but it’s still very much a human issue. I remember back when I smoked 20 years ago I never thought twice about flicking a cigarette out of the car window, and I’m sure there are people that still don’t.

How fucking bad does your math need to be to not realize that 250k in refunds for a 6 month period where the app is unusable equals 250k in revenue for the first 6 months of the year? All y’all are like “dev needs to eat, he deserves our support!” and the guy’s pulling down over 500k/year.

  • I had a mobile app for Reddit on my phone, you know when I used it last? 9 months ago when I was sitting in a waiting room waiting for an oil change. Every other time when I’m away from the computer I’m doing non-fucking-computer things.

This guy’s whole shtick was to make enough money to quit his day job, so he wrote a wrapper around someone else’s content using their free API. “Oh he did it all by himself, that’s amazing!” It’s really not, especially if you’d rather not share the subscription profits with other employees.

The FOSS alternatives? Done by guys with day jobs. They’re passion projects. I can respect that.

But you lot, who will drop to your knees the minute the guy wants to repeat his shtick now that Reddit kicked him to the curb? Zero respect at all.
