Like Wallace and Gromit but instead of cheese it’s biscuits.

  • My sister once asked if I could help with the kitchen sink in her house as it was blocked. I started taking waste pipes off and quickly realised there’s a bunch of sardines stuck in one pipe. Her 15 year old daughter had shoved fish down the waste pipe of the sink rather than putting them in the bin. I still can’t understand the logic in her head. Surely it’s more difficult to push fish through the small holes at the bottom of the sink than it is to take 2 steps towards the bin.

  • My wife is Asian and we live in the UK. Quite often when we meet people who instead of simply asking “what sort of job do you do” they ask things like “Do you work in the NHS”, “Are you a nurse”, “Do you work in a care home”.

Some random person outside a shop asked me how much my Asian bride costs.

My wife and son were getting off a bus and somebody asked her how much would she sell her son for.

Probably a bunch more but that’s all that comes to mind atm.

People do silly things. We have a department at work which pulls data from our ERP system to excel. They’re pulling 10’s of thousands of rows to return only a few bits of detail like product descriptions for a handful of items. I’ve offered to help them but they really don’t want help. They seem to be happy with this monster.

There’s another department which runs reports from our BI system, exports it to Excel, adds some calculations, then builds reports from that. They literally just need to ask the BI analyst to build them a report to their requirements.

I’m convinced people like screwing around in excel because it gives them something creative to do in an otherwise bland job.

  • I’ve been upset for about 10 years or so. I used to use the Love Film service where I got two Blu-ray at a time posted to me. The company was bought my Amazon. Ok, don’t like Amazon but that’s fine, I like the service still. They then incorporate it into their Prime package. I didn’t want anything else, just discs by post. To retain the disc service it cost more than just prime as prime was a requirement. They sneaked Prime onto my account without me realising and the price went up. They were phasing people from discs to online by making it the cheaper option. They then phased the disc service out altogether.

They literally bought Love Film to shut it down.

I’m was happy renting blurays. I switched to buying Blu-ray for a while but I have no where to keep a collection. So I have up and switched to Kodi.

Quite sad really. I still have what were then two good quality Blu-ray players now collecting dust. I sometimes look at them and think one day…

  • If I see young people of that age group it sometimes makes me remeber of when I was that age and the fun I did/could have had. Nothing in me wants to engage with any of that at all anymore. Just happy care free memories.

A few years ago a friend had a 40th birthday and his gf arranged a night out. She took us to a night club in a university city. It was such an odd experience. We left pretty fast.
