I agree with you, some of the most fun I’ve had in my life was living with a bunch of roommates in college. There was always something interesting going on and it made our rent comically cheap.

Yea lately I’ve been playing a bunch of Quake and Doom mods/wads/paks. There are probably tens of thousands of hours worth of free content available for both of these games. Kinda makes it hard to justify buying a new game when I could go download some masterpiece Quake campaign for free.

And a huge number of art assets in general. These days in the AAA industry the artists work much faster than the designers and programmers, so by the time the designers and programmers have finished their part, the art team has had time to make 3-4 times as many assets as they really need.

That video is a hoax. It’s a small screen inserted into a pregnancy test, cables run out the side which is never brought into frame.

It seems since I have made this post that a huge amount of progress has been made in getting DOOM running on the neogeo however.

I hope someone accomplishes it, even if it’s single digit framerate.
