  • As for “supporting the dev” I don’t really get this concept.

    It can be both.

    • You love the app, you don’t want it discontinued; you pay to continue the developement.
    • The developers have a solid business model without any shady practices and have such an awesome free version that you don’t feel the need to pay to upgrade to premium features; then you may pay just to just your gratitude. Niagara Launcher & MixPlorer are similar examples of ad-free FREE versions.

  • The Moto X (2014)/(2nd gen) was such an awesome phone with a solid build.

I bought it in 2015 at a huge discount instead of the One Plus 1. I used it till the end of 2019 until the battery gave in & the USB port became useless.

Except for the smaller battery size & ok-ish camera, everyone had praises for that phone. My favourite part was it’s shape & software.

It received the Android 5 & 6 updates even before summer Nexus phones. And the updates were stable. Times were wild back then.

  • From my limited understanding of web trackers, tracking companies like Facebook & Google and other 3rd party trackers like to identify unique users on the internet so that they can be served targeted ads suited to that unique user’s traits. They do this by creating unique ‘Fingerprints’ for these users by taking note of their browser characteristics like Timezone, Screen resolution, Fonts, Language preferences, etc.

This setting simply resets this fingerprint daily so that these tracking companies are not able to track you on the basis of your browser attributes. if you turn this on it will increase your privacy but will break some websites.
