Just a spacefaring raccoon that’s eaten all the food onboard. Sorry.

I have an alt for my main account. I just link back to my main account from there. I mainly use it when my main instance goes down. Likewise, I link my main account to an older account I had originally that I migrated from (all same username). That way, even if my new/alt looks really new, if someone cared enough, they could follow the trail backward to other older accounts.
I loved Textra. It’s not their fault, but I really love RCS support, and right now that’s basically Google Messages and a handful of preinstalled carrier messenger apps (if I’m not mistaken). I loved adding a 3 second delay on sending texts - I always seem to see typos as/after I hit send. 😂

That was quick! Logged in and went through a few skips. Not seeing anything worth noting, which is a good thing. I appreciate that it also pulls from smaller instances I’ve never even heard of.
If you’re on the website, go to your post, click the 3 vertical dots so that it expands, and hit the trash can icon.
I honestly don’t know how it should be. I’ll leave that up to you. I wasn’t logged in when I was going through communities. So that might be a way to filter them out easily - if you can pull a list of blocked instances from users’ home instances once they log in.
Pretty good. It’s kind of like Stumbleupon for Lemmy communities. The only “issue” I saw is it includes the forbidden no-no instances that are defederated by a lot of the bigger instances for being… troublesome.
I wonder if it has to do with preloading images and stuff to make the scrolling smoother. This could be a negative for people on mobile data that don’t have unlimited data plans. If that’s the case, being able to toggle preloading on wifi only might be something other apps would want to implement.
I caught ad removal at $16.99, but decided to wait and finish what I was doing. Came back and it was $19.99. If you got it for the brief time it was $12.99, kudos. 😉
Right. I should have clarified. You can’t create a post in a community yet.
“Coming Soon” is what pops up at the bottom.
It’s funny. I hadn’t really noticed it til the comment pointing it out made me think about it. It’s still not enough to bother me, but I will say that other apps do feel smoother when casually scrolling the feed.
It happens. I’m glad you said something, because I was coming in with another PSA about trying to discourage this behavior. What’s cute now can easily turn into an unfortunate accident in the future.
I must have missed that, as I selected No Version Detection and ended up on 0.0.6 again. Thanks for the heads up!
I’m not sure I fully understand the question, but maybe using Obtainium and pointing it at the developers’ GitHub? It’ll download directly from the source that way, including updates, etc
Slightly off topic. Obtainium sees that there’s an update to 0.0.7, but can’t seem to update 0.0.6. It downloads, tries to update, and boom - update available, with currently installed 0.0.6. Uninstall, reinstall, 0.0.6 again. I guess that’s just an Obtainium issue. A little weird though.
I keep trying new Lemmy apps. Some are very good, polished, and will work for most people. No disrespect to any of the third-party apps - I keep rotating between a few to see which I’ll end up using most. Not knocking any of them. But I just keep coming back to Jerboa. Usually, the third-party apps will just be missing that little something. And on the rare occasion I feel like Jerboa needs a feature that another app already has implemented, bam, it’s in the next update (such as DMing users in this update). Not here to suck on that Jerboa peepee, but just wanted to say thanks. With all the appreciation posts going around for the new hotness apps, there’s still some of us that appreciate the classic and all the work put into it by the various contributors.
It could have been you. I have a terrible memory. I just remember seeing someone comment that. I don’t really follow the Discord too much, but was a little more active over the last couple days in hopes to see a release date for the per-registration.
The Fifth Element.
