no it’s followed by Japanese. Japan is the third largest market by videogame revenue. Sure Spanish is spoken by a large portion of the world population, but the video game revenue the Spanish speaking countries generate isn’t as large as that of Japan. Latin-American countries are middle income countries and if you sell games there you have to sell them at localized pricing. In Japan you can sell your game at around the same price as you’d sell the game in the US and the EU.
Japan generates about $26 billion in video game revenue while Latam around $13 billion and Spain €2.4 billion according to these sources

13% of the Dutch are fucking NSB’ers like their grandparents.
The existence of the Steam Machine does not stop people from building their own Linux gaming box. The Steam Machine just proves that it is possible to do so. Like many people’s first PC was a pre built machine and then their subsequent machines were all custom builds. The Steam Machine can do the same for Linux PCs.
The difference between the Steam Machine and an off the shelve gamer pc, is that Valve has created a viable pathway to move away from Microsoft’s dominance in the PC gaming market. This is Valve showing to PC hardware makers that a PC gaming market without Windows is possible. Valve just needs to prove that consumers are willing to buy a Linux gaming machine, so the Steam Machine is the litmus test. Microsoft is Valve’s biggest threat to the survival of their business. Since MS’s anti-consumer behavior will push consumers away from PC gaming. Valve wants to create a PC gaming market where MS’s choke hold has been destroyed. Remember this isn’t Valve’s first attempt, the first Steam Machine was released when Win8 was released where MS tried to push the Windows Store as the default way to download software.

The Framework desktop already has soldered ram. That’s because AMD only sells that CPU like that.

I think some of the people posting comments don’t know what “guilty pleasure “ means.

I got the data from this Wikipedia page. Which says that nominal GDP per Capita is greater for Alabama.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_GDP

Germany has a GDP per capita lower than Alabama. Yet the average German has a quality of life that is significantly higher than that of an average person in Alabama. GDP doesn’t tell the whole picture.

Yes I know I own a Deck. I’m just saying that the Steam layer is not, since the comment I was replying to was asking why you’d still need Plasma and not use the Steam UI to use it as a desktop

Basically SteamOS is just a tweaked version of Arch Linux that boots Steam Big Picture Mode by default and launches games with Proton. It’s not a full blown OS by itself.

Hence why Valve is releasing the Steam Machine to push SteamOS. It will illuminate a pathway to run away on. At least for gamers.

Will never happen. Dems are too spineless.

Are the Japanese collaborating with the Nazis again?

I don’t think the Steam Machine is going to be placed in the market as a competitor for consoles. It’s probably not gonna be sold at a loss. The Steam Machine is a competitor to Windows. It’s Valve’s solution to show hardware makers and publishers that a PC gaming market without Microsoft is possible. At the moment Valve’s business is way too dependent on Microsoft. With the direction Win11 is going, Microsoft is a serious threat to Valve’s survival. The more anti-consumer Windows becomes the more likely it will push PC gamers to consoles.
Remember the first Steam Machines came out when Microsoft tried to force their Windows Store on developers in Win8.
