They don’t prevent being robbed and if you’re not rich their investigation don’t turned out great, they don’t prevent women being raped and most of the time their investigation only make the victim relive their trauma and let the perpetrators go free. Scott Pilgrim and Speed Racer were commercial failures. They are in my humble opinion two of the best cinema that get out of Hollywood. Being the commercial failures that they were Producers abandoned this side of the craft for the slop fest that we’re in now
There’s some beautiful TV series that were cancelled after one season : Firefly (Whedon is an awful being), Almost Human, Kaos, Altered Carbon (they should have cancelled it after one season, the second not only killed the franchise it killed the possibility of doing more) to name a few

In the start of 2000 the American diffusion rights for Cowboy Bebop was held by Disney. It cost in my region nearly 50$ for 2 episodes on DVD (there’s 26 episodes).
The reason was that « animation » was their turf and they were no good reason for them to let so oriental men be better than Disney at it. So they bought most of the diffusion rights and didn’t distribute the product.
