That’s correct, I agree with you. I’m expressing that I’ve seen this happen time and time again. There are already alternatives out there, not processed alternatives, real foods people have been eating for thousands of years. So when people comment “Oh, FINALLY I can be ethical!” It comes off as disingenuous, people just don’t want to change their habits even if it better aligns with their personal beliefs. I still think for a long time this will play out how Beyond and Impossible do. An option for those curious to try it, but the path forward to liberate animals will not come from an exciting new product, it will have to come from a shift in our thinking of food. I just don’t see that ever happening.

Very much, it was awful. It was below freezing and we did not have power for 3 days strait (and i consider myself lucky it came back when it did! some where out for 2 weeks!). All the gas stations ran out of gas, every hotel room that had power was overbooked. They sent out a notice urging people to stay inside, but some elderly died in their armchairs in their living room. Froze to death, in Texas. This goddamn piss baby doesn’t give a shit!

The only smart objects I have are some light bulbs. I think, some processes are good to automate and put software in control of, and some things I want to have explicit control over (I.E. Door locks, Safe locks, AC settings, Heating). Technology can break in fantastical ways, but a lock should just freaking work.
