I’m getting so sick and fucking tired of people tying earnings potential to whether something is good or bad. Same thing with tying wealth to intelligence. It is so monumentally stupid and shortsighted.

While I agree with the first half. Someone has to convince the Congress of the other half. Otherwise, it unfortunately absolutely is legitimate.

Reasons. Legal ones.

Y’all know the courts will find some way to either hold this up until after the midterms (after blocking CA’s map of course), or just bending over into themselves to say CA’s circumstance is different because (legal) reasons.

So.
Much.
Winning.

That way they can’t call it flawed.
So cute that you think this!

Shoulda posted in unpopularopinions. In this sub, it’s just stupid.
Exactly! TBH, I’m surprised. The GOP’s God King said, “make it so,” and they haven’t done his bidding. The one time their spineless adherence to anything Trump wants could’ve actually been popular, and we get nothing. An astonishing level of incompetence! For shits and giggles, a Democrat should push for the bill to be taken up, just to watch the GOP leadership shoot it down because they can’t take credit for it. An official “not like that.”
Apparently it causes issues in some states.
… issues that would not be rendered moot by the supremacy clause of the Constitution!? If Congress passes a law saying that because the federal currency will no longer include a $0.01 denomination, all cash transactions must be (either rounded to the nearest $0.05, or must have change values in multiples of $0.05), states are obliged to follow this law. As it is, the mint will just stop making a kind of money, leaving states in the lurch, and potentially inviting lawsuits from state attorneys general.

Right!? Whole lotta shooting and death happening for a truce!

“Might” is doing some damn heavy lifting!

Discussing a shared love of doodling and cryptic birthday cards.

IIRC the legalized weed began with 2 states (WA and CO? Possibly DC around the same time or the following year?) during the Obama admin. The DOJ chose not to fight it in court. By the time littlehand was in office, the cat was out of the bag and more states had legalized it.
Point being, if my recollection is correct, weed legalization happened at the right time. If it had happened under W, it likely would have been shut down by his DOJ.
All of that said, it’s an interesting argument, and I’m all for the populous blue states exerting little force on the feds.

I’ve really enjoyed 4K77.
I mean we reelected one of our biggest mistakes a year ago, so…

This is what winning looks like?

New Year’s Eve, a number of years ago. Wife and I went to a bar with some friends and rang in the New Year. I think she and I maybe smoked a pack between the two of us that night. Next day, both of us felt sick to our stomachs. Really nauseous, and just terrible. We didn’t get that drunk, so it wasn’t a bad hangover or anything. Anyway, just the thought of a cigarette made both of us even more nauseous. Flash forward a week, and neither one of us had spoken about not having smoked, and we didn’t want another cigarette. A week later, wife confirmed to me that she hadn’t had any at work. I said the same to her. Years later, we haven’t had any either.
Now we’re “ex-smokers,” who I think are the worst for smokers to be around. We’re hyper-sensitive to the smell and smoky rooms.

Isn’t everything? /s
You make it clear that you don’t like new things. You really need to recognize that this makes it difficult for your loved ones to buy you gifts. I’m old enough that I generally don’t want anything for Christmas or my birthday. I have enough stuff. What I want is time to spend with the people I love. That doesn’t mean I refuse gifts or complain about them, because a gift means that someone saw something that made them think of you; and they bought it for you to celebrate your relationship. So even if it’s a bad gift, it’s coming from a good place.
