I have adhd and I’m a software developer. We make enterprise software for various clients.

We don’t copy and paste, per se, but we do have common practices and many let’s say functions for simplicity that we will reuse over and over as a lot of enterprise looks similar and just the customer screens change. So we still do a lot of problem solving but if we have already solved that problem before we can use it again.

Currently working with a large transport authority to build a claims tracking system and create a bespoke Sage integration to track payments and receipts. And I’m not that smart dude and I don’t even feel like an adult in my forties.

We offer ongoing support to all our clients and genuinely do what’s right and fair all the time as my boss and the own is an incredible dude and just nice and fair and open.

When Keir Starmer was a solicitor he defended people, successfully, for the same kind of thing. This isn’t terrorism, this is my government taking away our rights to protest.

People are ignoring their proscription to bring attention to the insanity of it and hope to force the government to back down. It’s mainly old people being arrested; including priests. I would do it myself but it’s hard when you’ve got work and being in jail would hinder that.

Depends. This is a leveraged buyout and there are countless examples of other companies bought like this and they don’t last long.

They take on massive debt to buy it. Then they shift that debt to the company they bought and away from the individuals. Then that company is crippled paying down interest so they can’t innovate (not that EA did), then they’ll have to cut costs and the product will diminish. Likely pay out billions in dividends to the buyers can make profit and in 5-10 years EA will go bust or get sold again.

The banks will be left holding the bag, but probably covered their loses by that time so can write off the rest of the debt.

Hopefully it’s a leveraged buyout and this is the death of EA.

In the grand scheme of things I’ve more important things I can channel by hatred of the current world than on what Operating System I use. Every minute I spend debugging is a minute I’m not doing something else.

For what it’s worth it was Fedora that I tried and it sucked, as I said. The WiFi would just die randomly and even if it takes 5 mins to fix ive never had to do that on windows. It’s literally plug and play.

And this is my man issue. Time. Time is precious and I don’t want headaches where I don’t need them. That is phone and pc.

Sure I’ll make life harder and more expensive by not shopping at massive companies. Or not using Netflix or Disney so I have to shop elsewhere and build a media server, on Linux, but most people just want to turn on a pc open stream and play Factorio.

The other thing these people don’t realise is a lot of engineers are using windows at work too. Our tiny company of engineers is all in on Windows and does exactly what we want. I’d prefer Mac but windows is fine.
